Marj District
Marj ( ar, المرج ', en, The Meadows) is an administrative division (''shabiyah'' or district) of northeastern Libya, lying on the Mediterranean Sea coast. Its administrative seat is the city of Marj, which was formerly known as Barca. Marj is situated on the Cyrenaica Plateau at the western edge of the Jebel Akhdar. In the 2007 administrative reorganization part of the territory formerly in Al Hizam al Akhdar District was transferred to Al Marj. In the north, Marj has a shoreline on the Mediterranean Sea. On land, it borders Jabal al Akhdar in the east, Al Wahat in south and Benghazi in the west. Per the census of 2012, the total population in the region was 157,747 with 150,353 Libyans. The average size of the household in the country was 6.9, while the average household size of non-Libyans being 3.7. There were totally 22,713 households in the district, with 20,907 Libyan ones. Marj Carpenter
Marj Carpenter (August 23, 1926 – June 13, 2020) was an American reporter and mission interpreter for the Worldwide Ministries division of the Presbyterian Church (USA). She was elected to the church's top post, Moderator of the General Assembly, in 1995. Carpenter was a native Texan. She won numerous journalism awards over her 50 years career as a reporter. She began as a cub reporter for ''The Enterprise'' in Mercedes, Texas. She was a reporter for the ''Big Spring Herald'' from 1970 to 1978. During her career in the church she traveled to over 120 countries where Presbyterians have mission work. Carpenter served as director of the Presbyterian News Service for 15 years until her retirement in 1994 and then was elected as the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) for a one-year term in July 1995. Marjorie Ellen Mahoney Dusay (; née Mahoney; February 20, 1936 – January 28, 2020) was an American actress known for her roles on American soap operas. She was especially known for her role as Alexandra Spaulding on ''Guiding Light'', a role she played on and off from 1993 through the show's 2009 cancellation, as well as the wife of Douglas MacArthur in the 1977 movie '' MacArthur''. Marj Mitchell
Marjorie Mitchell (August 27, 1948 in Glen Ewen, Saskatchewan – October 18, 1983 in Regina, Saskatchewan) was a Canadian curler. She was the skip for the winning team at the 1980 World Curling Championships, and the 1980 Canadian Ladies Curling Association Championship, the forerunner to the Scott Tournament of Hearts.
