Mario Roso De Luna
Mario Roso de Luna (Logrosán, March 15, 1872 – Madrid, November 8, 1931) was a Spanish lawyer, theosophist, journalist, writer, freemason and astrologist. Biography Known as the "Red Magician of Logrosán", Roso liked to define himself as a "Theosophist" and an "Ateneist", relating to his membership in the Ateneo de Madrid, together with other important figures of the period, such as Miguel de Unamuno and Ramón María del Valle-Inclán. As a Theosophist he realized a tremendous amount of educative work. He translated all of Helena Blavatsky's work to Spanish and wrote a large set of his own books. Logrosán
Logrosán () is a municipality within the province of Cáceres in Extremadura, Spain. It is the capital of the administrative and commercial sub-area of Don Benito-Villanueva. Logrosán was an important and growing community in the first half of the 20th century. The area was once home to a population of over 8,000 due to its large role in the Mining industry during the 19th and 20th centuries. It is currently administered by the City Council of Logrosán. Geography Geographically, Logrosán is located in the south of the province of Caceres (Extremadura), at the base of Las Villuercas in the Montes de Toledo mountain range. The town sits on the base of a granite batholith called "Cerro de San Cristóbal" that surfaced in the Quaternary period. Theosophy is a religion established in the United States during the late 19th century. It was founded primarily by the Russian Helena Blavatsky and draws its teachings predominantly from Blavatsky's writings. The Ateneo de Madrid ("Athenæum of Madrid") is a private cultural institution located in the capital of Spain that was founded in 1835. Miguel de Unamuno y Jugo (29 September 1864 – 31 December 1936) was a Spanish essayist, novelist, poet, playwright, philosopher, professor of Greek and Classics, and later rector at the University of Salamanca. His major philosophical essay was ''The Tragic Sense of Life'' (1912), and his most famous novel was '' Abel Sánchez: The History of a Passion'' (1917), a modern exploration of the Cain and Abel story. The Schola Philosophicae Initiationis (School of Philosophical Initiation) was a Theosophical splinter group created in Madrid in 1928 by Eduardo Alfonso and Mario Roso de Luna in response to what they considered the doctrinal deviations of the Theosophical Society, especially in reference to the proclamation of Jiddu Krishnamurti as the World Teacher.
