MarilynManson.com is the official website of American rock band Marilyn Manson. The website, since its launch in 1998, has been integral to the promotion and direction of the band. In the past, Marilyn Manson was known to launch hidden sites to promote select albums (''Mechanical Animals'' and ''Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)'' prominently), but promotion campaigns by this method have since been discontinued. Similarly, during the Celebritarian era of the band (following the release of '' Lest We Forget''), a code that was thought to be hidden was discovered. Much to fans' beliefs that this was intentionally meant to be found and deciphered, Marilyn Manson recently revealed in a 10-page exclusive interview with ''The Hierophant'' that the cause for alarm over the "hidden" code in the site was not his intention and it had evolved into something that he did not necessarily approve of. ''Eat Me, Drink Me'' is the sixth studio album by American rock band Marilyn Manson. It was released on June 5, 2007, by Interscope Records. It was recorded in a rented home studio in Hollywood by lead vocalist Marilyn Manson and guitarist and bassist Tim Sköld, and was produced by Manson and Sköld. It was the band's first album not to be recorded as a five-piece, as John 5 departed from the group in 2004. Instead of replacing 5, Tim Sköld remained with bass and played guitar, and the band continued as a four-piece. Manson has stated that he sang most of the album lying down on the studio floor with his hands cupping the studio microphone, resulting in a very distinctive vocal sound. Of Sköld's compositions, a further two are said to have been turned into fully-fledged songs with lyrics, music and vocals completed but were not put onto album for fear of making it overwrought. ''Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Marilyn Manson. It was released on November 11, 2000, by Nothing and Interscope Records. A rock opera concept album, it is the final installment of a triptych that also included ''Antichrist Superstar'' (1996), and marked a return to the industrial metal style of the band's earlier work, after the glam rock-influenced production of ''Mechanical Animals'' (1998). "Disposable Teens" is a song by American Rock music, rock band Marilyn Manson (band), Marilyn Manson. It was released on November 7, 2000 as the lead single from their fourth full-length studio album, ''Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)'' (2000). It was released in two standalone physical formats. The first, titled "Disposable Teens Pt. 1," was released on November 6, 2000 in the UK. It features Manson's cover of John Lennon's "Working Class Hero". The second, titled "Disposable Teens Pt. 2," followed on November 14, 2000 and features a cover of The Doors' "Five to One". "Disposable Teens Pt. 2" was also released as a 12" picture disc vinyl LP. It is considered a teenage anthem of sorts, echoing what Manson see as teenagers who act violently in retaliation against parental and social authority. Guns, God and Government was a worldwide arena tour by American rock band Marilyn Manson. It was the eighth tour the band embarked upon and the fourth to span over multiple legs. It was launched 17 days ahead in support of their fourth full-length studio album, ''Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)'', which was released on November 14, 2000, in the US and Australia. Beginning on October 27, 2000, and lasting until September 2, 2001, the tour included six legs spanning Eurasia, Japan and North America with a total of 107 completed shows out of 109 planned. The show began in Minneapolis' Orpheum Theatre. The shows drew numerous protesters and resistance from civic and church leaders as well as other elements of local communities. ''Lie: The Love and Terror Cult'' is the debut studio album by American musician and convicted murderer Charles Manson. It was released on vinyl on March 6, 1970, by Phil Kaufman, through a record label branded Awareness Records. Although not a commercial success, it retains a following among those interested in the Manson case, inspiring many cover versions and samples. The album includes some of Manson's best known songs, including "Look at Your Game, Girl" and " Cease to Exist" (the latter had been recorded by the Beach Boys as "Never Learn Not to Love"). The cover is a parody of the December 19, 1969, ''Life'' magazine cover, which featured Manson along with the headline "The Love and Terror Cult". Charles Milles Manson (; November 12, 1934November 19, 2017) was an American criminal and musician who led the Manson Family, a cult based in California, in the late 1960s. Some of the members committed a series of nine murders at four locations in July and August 1969. In 1971, Manson was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder for the deaths of seven people, including the film actress Sharon Tate.
