Marian Kowalski (politician)
Marian Janusz Kowalski (born 15 August 1964 in Lublin) is a Polish political activist, columnist and former bodybuilder. He was the official candidate of the National Movement (Poland), National Movement for the office of President of Poland in the 2015 Polish presidential election and served as Vice-Chairman of the party from 2014 to 2015. In the first round he received 0.52% of votes, which gave him ninth place among the candidates. From February 2016 until August 2018 he was the co-host of the political video podcast "Against the Tide" („Idź Pod Prąd”) along with Pastor Paweł Chojecki. In November 2017 he became the chairman of the "11 November Movement" He resigned his membership in August 2018 which was at the same time he parted with Paweł Chojecki. Since late 2019 he has been a vocal supporter of the Law and Justice party. Lublin
Lublin is the ninth-largest city in Poland and the second-largest city of historical Lesser Poland. It is the capital and the center of Lublin Voivodeship with a population of 336,339 (December 2021). National Movement ( pl, Ruch Narodowy, RN) is an ultranationalist political party in Poland. It is led by Robert Winnicki. It was founded in 2012 as an organization, and in 2014 it was registered as a political party. It is a part of the Confederation Liberty and Independence, and it currently has 5 members in the Sejm. It is a far-right political party and it is orientated towards socially conservative and militarist stances. 2015 Polish Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Poland on 10 and 24 May 2015. In the first round of voting Law and Justice (PiS) candidate, lawyer and Member of the European Parliament, Andrzej Duda received the greatest number of votes with a share of 34.76%, followed by incumbent president Bronisław Komorowski (with 33.77%), who ran as an independent with the endorsement of the Civic Platform (PO), which he had renounced his membership in after winning the 2010 elections. Independent candidate Paweł Kukiz came third with 20.80% of the votes. As no candidate had received more than 50% of the votes cast, a second round was held on 24 May between the two highest-placed candidates, Duda and Komorowski. Law and Justice ( pl, Prawo i Sprawiedliwość , PiS) is a right-wing populist and national-conservative political party in Poland. Its chairman is Jarosław Kaczyński. It was founded in 2001 by Jarosław and Lech Kaczyński as a direct successor of the Centre Agreement after it split from the Solidarity Electoral Action (AWS). It managed to win the 2005 parliamentary and presidential elections, after which Lech became the president of Poland.
