Marial, Oregon
Marial is an unincorporated community and the site of a former post office in Curry County, Oregon, United States. Located along the Rogue River about from its mouth on the Pacific Ocean, the area was home to Takelma Indians, then to white and Karok settlers, before becoming part of a designated wilderness. Buildings preserved at the Rogue River Ranch pioneer farm complex, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, represent the former center of Marial. Nearby are the Tucker Flat Campground and a riverside lodge named Marial. Marial is in the Klamath Mountains in the Rogue River – Siskiyou National Forest. The nearby Lower Rogue River Trail, a National Recreation Trail, runs roughly parallel to the river between Grave Creek and Illahe through the Wild Rogue Wilderness. The stretch of the river between Grave Creek and Illahe is designated Wild and Scenic and is "one of the best-known whitewater runs in the United States". Guor Marial
Guor Mading Maker (born 15 April 1984), also known as Guor Marial, is a South Sudanese Olympic track and field athlete. He is a Dinka tribesman. Maker competed in the men's marathon at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Due to civil war that saw South Sudan split from Sudan, he has refused to compete under the flag of the latter, stating that, "It would be betraying my people". He was one of four athletes competing in the 2012 Summer Olympics under the Olympic flag rather than that of an individual country. Maker competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics for South Sudan, the country's first appearance at an Olympic Games. A film has been made of his life called “Runner”. Early life Maker left home at the age of seven to live with his uncle in northern Sudan. In 1994, at the age of nine, he fled from a refugee camp during the Sudanese Civil War. Juli Marial Mundet (3 April 1885 – 21 May 1963) was a Spanish footballer and businessman. Most notably, he was the sixth president of both FC Barcelona and the Catalan Football Federation. Under Marial's leadership, the club experienced a social and sporting crisis, and despite his enthusiasm as both a player and a president, the club lost a third of its members, with only 38 remaining by the end of his presidency. Biography Marial was born into a wealthy Barcelona family. His father was the architect and politician Juli Marial Tey, and his mother was Caterina Mundet Farreras, both born in Barcelona, and his brother, Melcior Marial, was also a politician. Professionally, he was dedicated, like his father, to the construction sector as a contractor. He began to practice football at Irish FC, featuring alongside the likes of Romà Forns.
