Maria (Sinhala Film)
''Maria'' ( si, මාරියා) is an upcoming Sri Lankan Sinhala thriller film directed by Aruna Jayawardene and produced by Indrajith Silva for D&D Films. The film stars all-men cast including, Mahendra Perera, Hemal Ranasinghe, Ashan Dias, Darshan Dharmaraj, Priyantha Sirikumara, Dasun Pathirana, and Suran Dasanayake. The film is based on a true incident faced by a group of Indonesian fishermen. It is notable that for the first time in Sinhala cinema, all the scenes of the film were filmed in the middle of the deep sea in Sri Lankan waters. Plot A group of friends who are engaged in fishing in the Indian Ocean by a multi-day fishing boat which belongs to different races, castes and religions. Mahendra Perera
Mahendra Shrikantha Perera (born 17 August 1956: si, මහේන්ද්ර පෙරේරා), is an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, stage drama and television. One of the most influential actors in Sinhala cinema, Mahendra performed from drama to comedy in many blockbuster films. Personal life He was born on 17 August 1956 in Mount-Lavinia, Sri Lanka as the youngest of the family. His father Vincent Perera, was a store manager at the Browns, and his mother Soma Weerasekera, was a matron at several government hospitals. Hemal Sachindra Ranasinghe (born 25 August 1984 as හේමාල් රණසිංහ)) is an actor in Sri Lankan cinema and television. He earned the critics' award for 'Best Actor' and 'Most Popular Actor' at the Derana Film Awards in both 2016 and 2018 becoming one of Sri Lanka's most popular actors of modern cinema. Darshan Dharmaraj ( ta, தர்ஷன் தர்மராஜ், si, දර්ශන් ධර්මරාජ්; 2 March 1981 – 2 October 2022) was a Sri Lankan actor in film, theatre and television.
