Mareez (play)
''Mareez'' is a 2004 biographical play about mid-twentieth century Gujarati poet Mareez, written by Vinit Shukla and directed by Manoj Shah. One of Shah's long-running productions, it premiered on 16 November 2004 at Prithvi Theatre, Mumbai. Background Directed by Manoj Shah and written by Vinit Shukla, the play narrates the life of Mareez. The play has been adapted by the author from Mareez's biography ''Mareez: Astitva Ane Vyaktitva'' (2001) written by Raeesh Maniar. The representation of Mareez has been influenced by Vincent van Gogh's autobiographical work ''Dear Theo'' and Charles Bukowski's biopic ''Barfly''. The set features six paintings painted by Gulam Mohammed Sheikh. The play premiered on 16 November 2004 at Prithvi Theatre, Mumbai. Prithvi Theatre
Prithvi Theatre is one of Mumbai's best known theatres. It was built by Shashi Kapoor and his wife Jennifer Kapoor in memory of Prithviraj Kapoor, Shashi's father, who had dreamt of having a "home" for his repertory theatre company, Prithvi Theatres, belongs to the Kapoor family, one of the most influential actor and director families in Bollywood. Pratik Gandhi
Pratik Gandhi is an Indian actor. He worked in Gujarati theatre before entering Gujarati cinema. He received wide acclaim for portraying Harshad Mehta in Sony LIV series ''Scam 1992''. He acted in several Hindi films thereafter. Early life Gandhi was born in Surat to parents who were teachers. He completed his schooling at V. D. Desai Wadiwala (Bhulka Bhavan) High School in Surat. He studied at Surat where he was involved in theatre arts. He graduated in Industrial Engineering from the North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon in 2004. ''Mushaira'' ( ur, , Mušā'ira) is a poetic symposium. It is an event (called ''mehfil'', Mushairi) where poets gather to perform their works. Utpal Harivallabh Bhayani (10 October 1953 – 16 October 2019) was a Gujarati language story writer, playwright, critic and translator from Gujarat, India. Life Utapal Bhayani was born on 10 October 1953 in Calicut (now Kozhikode) to Harivallabh Bhayani, a Gujarati writer. His family was from Mahuva in Bhavnagar district.
