Marcus Henry (offensive Lineman)
Marcus Henry (born February 11, 1993) is an American football center who is a free agent. He played college football at Boise State University. Early years Henry attended Bellevue High School. He was a two-way player, while contributing to the school winning the 3A State Championship in 2009 and 2010. As a junior, he received second-team All-conference honors. As a senior, he received All-state, All-Kingco and Kingco Conference Lineman of the Year honors. College career Henry accepted a football scholarship from Boise State University. As a redshirt freshman, he appeared in 11 games, playing on the special teams units. As a sophomore, he started 12 games at guard. He missed the season finale against University of New Mexico with an injury. As a junior, he started all 14 games. As a senior, he started all 13 games. Center or Centre (C) is a position in gridiron football. The center is the innermost lineman of the offensive line on a football team's offense. The center is also the player who passes (or "snaps") the ball between his legs to the quarterback at the start of each play. The importance of centers for a football team has increased, due to the re-emergence of 3–4 defenses. In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. Because the players on the practice squad are familiar with the team's plays and formations, the practice squad serves as a way to develop inexperienced players for promotion to the main roster. Mini-camp
A mini-camp, also spelled minicamp, is a short camp held by National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL) teams usually in spring of each year. The camp usually only lasts 3 days, but the length varies by a day or two depending on the head coach's preference. Mini-camps are geared toward getting the newly drafted rookies acclimated to the NFL playing schemes. It also gives coaches and team administrators the chance to see their new players in action learning plays from their new team's playbook. Several veteran players of each team will also attend mini-camp to refresh their skills and get acquainted with the new players coming in. Attendance requirements for mini-camp are entirely up to each individual head coach. Some head coaches push for all of the players to be there, while others ask for just the rookies and younger players to attend.
