Marcos Pérez Jiménez
Marcos Evangelista Pérez Jiménez (25 April 1914 – 20 September 2001) was a Venezuelan military and general officer of the Army of Venezuela and the dictator of Venezuela from 1950 to 1958, ruling as member of the military junta from 1950 to 1952 and as president from 1952 to 1958. He took part in the 1948 coup d'état, becoming part of the ruling junta. He ran in the 1952 election. However, the junta cancelled the election when early results indicated that the opposition was ahead, and declared Jiménez provisional president. He became president in 1953 and instituted a constitution that granted him dictatorial powers. Under Pérez's rule, the rise of oil prices facilitated many public works projects, including roads, bridges, government buildings and public housing, as well as the rapid development of industries such as hydroelectricity, mining, and steel. He studied law at the University of Thessaloniki and practised until he was elected as an MP for PASOK in 1977. He was elected overall three times up to 1989. Marcos Antonio Morínigo Fleytas (8 October 1848 – 13 July 1901) was a Paraguayan politician who served as President of Paraguay in 1894. He was born in 1848 in Quyquyho (Paraguarí department). In 1881, he was elected for his first term in the Chamber of Deputies, a post he held for more than nine years. In 1887, Morinigo participated in founding the Colorado Party and was elected Vice President of Paraguay in 1890 (alongside President Juan Gualberto González). After González was sacked, he became president on June 8, 1894, until the legal end of the term (November 25, 1894). Morinigo was elected senator in 1895. Markos Kyprianou ( el, Μάρκος Κυπριανού ; born 22 January 1960) is a Cypriot politician who served as a Minister of Foreign Affairs until his official resignation on 19 July 2011, following the events of the Evangelos Florakis Naval Base explosion. A member of the Democratic Party, he was formerly Cyprus's Finance Minister and the European Commissioner for Health. He tendered his resignation as Commissioner on 29 February 2008 to become Foreign Minister in the government of newly elected President Dimitris Christofias; the resignation took effect on 3 March 2008, when his successor, Androulla Vassiliou, was confirmed as Commissioner. Markos Drakos (EOKA Fighter)
Markos Drakos ( el, Μάρκος Δράκος) was a Cypriot guerrilla fighter who was killed in the EOKA struggle (1955–1959) against the British. His '' nom de guerre'' was ''Lykourgos''. He was born in Nicosia District, on 24 September 1932 and studied accounting. He worked for the Hellenic Mining Company in Cyprus until 1954. When EOKA was formed, Drakos was among the first to join, training others in the use of arms and recruiting members. Drakos was mild-mannered and enthusiastic to learn about military operations, as well as being devoutly religious, and EOKA commander Georgios Grivas "Dighenis" quickly took a liking to him. He saw great potential in Drakos as a leader, and he was quickly promoted to a senior position in EOKA. Marcos Pinheiro Pizzelli (; hy, Մարկոս Պինեյրո Պիզզելլի; born 3 October 1984), commonly known as Marcos, is a former professional footballer. Born in Brazil, Marcos represented Armenia internationally between 2008 and 2019. Club career Ararat Yerevan Pizzelli started his career at the Brazilian club São Carlos as a youth from 2000 to 2005.
