Marco Antonio Gómez y Garduño (born April 27, 1984) is a Mexican former footballer. Career A product of the Club América youth divisions, Gómez debuted for the first division team on May 8, 2005, in a game against Atlas which his club won 5–2. Making his professional debut at the fabled Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, Gómez played a total of 13 minutes, coming on in substitution for Argentine standout Claudio López. After his debut, despite remaining in the first team, Gómez has only appeared in two more games, partly due to the fierce competition he faced from fellow forwards like Kléber Boas, Apertura 2005 goalscoring champion; the aforementioned López (two-time world cup attendee), Club América team captain Cuauhtémoc Blanco (two-time World Cup attendee as well), Aarón Padilla, the team's top sub - and newcomers Vicente Matías Vuoso and Salvador Cabañas. Cuauhtémoc Blanco Bravo (; born 17 January 1973) is a Mexican politician and former professional footballer who is the current Governor of Morelos under the coalition '' Juntos Haremos Historia''. He formerly served as the municipal president of Cuernavaca, Morelos. As a footballer, Blanco was known for his attacking ability and played most of his career as a deep-lying forward and his last years as an attacking midfielder. Salvador Cabañas Ortega (born 5 August 1980) is a Paraguayan former professional footballer who played as a striker. Cabañas played for Club 12 de Octubre, Guaraní, Audax Italiano, Chiapas, Club América, General Caballero, Tanabi and Independiente F.B.C. Vicente José Matías Vuoso (born 3 November 1981) is a former professional footballer who played as a striker. Born in Argentina, he represented the Mexico national team. Born in Mar del Plata, Vuoso began his career at Independiente in 2000, then transferring to English club Manchester City in 2002, where he did not play in a single league match. Aarón Padilla Mota (born 13 August 1977) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played twice for his country. He played in the Liga MX for Atlante, América, Necaxa, Atlas, Jaguares and Puebla. Life and career Padilla started his career at Atlante in 1998. Despite playing sparsely during his stint at Atlante, he managed to score at least a goal in each season he played in after 2001, attesting to his skill as a goalscoring forward.
