Marcello Quintanilha
Marcello Eduardo Mouco Quintanilha Quintanilha (born 1971) is a Brazilian comic book artist. Born in Niterói, he first published comics in 1988, for magazines such as ''Mestre Kim'', ''General'', ''Metal Pesado'' and ''Zé Pereira'', under the pseudonym Marcelo Gaú. In 1999 he published his first graphic novel, ''Fealdade de Fabiano Gorila''. That year, during the first edition of the Festival Internacional de Quadrinhos, International Comics Festival of Belo Horizonte, he met François Boucq, who became interested in his work and convinced him to send his drawings to European publishers. In 2003, he published ''La promesse'' the first volume of the series ''Sept balles pour Oxford'', by Belgian publishing house Le Lombard, written by Argentine writer Jorge Zentner and the Spanish Montecarlo. Niterói (, ) is a Municipalities of Brazil, municipality of the state of Rio de Janeiro (state), Rio de Janeiro in the Southeast Region, Brazil, southeast region of Brazil. Festival Internacional De Quadrinhos
Festival Internacional de Quadrinhos (FIQ) is a comic convention held in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, every two years. History In 1997, the third edition of Bienal Internacional de Quadrinhos (''International Comics Biennial'') was held in Belo Horizonte. This was an annual comic event held previously in Rio de Janeiro in 1991 and 1993 (the 1995 edition didn't happen because it lost the financial support of the Rio de Janeiro City Hall, which made the event change to Belo Horizonte). With the definitive cancellation of Bienal after the 1997 edition, the Festival Internacional de Quadrinhos (''International Comics Festival'') was created in 1999, with the same proposal of the previous event that was to present exhibitions of comic artists from all over the world and give the opportunity for independent Brazilian authors to present their works. François Boucq
François Boucq (; born 28 November 1955 in Lille), is a French comic book artist. He is most famous for his Surrealism, surreal comics revolving around the main character . Career Boucq published cartoons in magazines like ''Le Point'' or ''L'Expansion'' at an early age. Soon, he also created comic albums, becoming famous with ''Les pionniers de l'aventure humaine''. Many more have been published in the meantime, including ' (1986) ' (1990) and ' (2014) with American novelist Jerome Charyn. Le Lombard
''Le Lombard'', known as ''Les Éditions du Lombard'' until 1989, is a Belgian comic book publisher established in 1946 when ''Tintin'' magazine was launched. Le Lombard is now part of Média-Participations, alongside publishers Dargaud and Dupuis, with each entity maintaining its editorial independence. History Les Éditions du Lombard was established by Raymond Leblanc and his partners in 1946. Wanting to create an illustrated youth magazine, they decided that the already well-known ''Tintin'' would be the perfect hero. Business partner André Sinave went to see Tintin creator Hergé to propose creating the magazine. Hergé, who had worked for ''Le Soir'' during the war, was being prosecuted for having collaborated with the Germans and did not have a publisher at the time. Jorge Zentner (born 1953) is an Argentine comic writer and the creator of the Dieter Lumpen character. , ''Casa del Libro'' Biography Zentner was born at Basavilbaso, Entre Ríos Province, Entre Ríos, Argentina, into a Jews, Jewish family. After studying journalism and psychology, he worked as a reporter in Argentina. In 1977 he was forced to flee Argentina, and lived in Israel, Spain and France. He began his career as a comic writer in 1979; in 1981 he started a long collaboration with Spanish artist Ruben Pellejero, with whom he realized most of his work. The Prize for Best Album (''Prix du meilleur album''), also known as the ''Fauve d'Or'' ("Golden Wildcat"), is awarded to comics authors at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. As is the customary practice in Wikipedia for listing awards such as Academy Awards, Oscar results, the winner of the award for that year is listed first, the others listed below are the nominees.
