Manzil (1979 Film)
''Manzil'' () is a 1979 Indian Bollywood romantic drama film directed by Basu Chatterjee. The film was loosely inspired by the Bengali film '' Akash Kusum'' (1965). ''Manzil'' stars Amitabh Bachchan and Moushumi Chatterjee in pivotal roles. The film won critical acclaim for its story, while Bachchan was praised for his performance, although, the film did only average business at the box office. The song ''Rimjhim Gire Saawan'' is a chartbuster. The movie was reported to be the only Hindi movie to have galvanometer in its core plot. Basu Chatterjee
Basu Chatterjee ( bn, বাসু চ্যাটার্জ্জী; 10 January 1927 – 4 June 2020) was an Indian film director and screenwriter. Through the 1970s and 1980s, Chatterjee became associated with what came to be known as middle cinema or middle-of-the-road cinema filmmakers, such as Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Bhattacharya, whom he assisted on ''Teesri Kasam'' (1966). Lalita Pawar (18 April 1916 – 24 February 1998) was a prolific Indian actress, who later became famous as a character actress, appearing in over 700 films in Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati cinema. Yogesh Gaur, or Gaud commonly credited as Yogesh, (March 19, 1943 – May 29, 2020), was an Indian writer and lyricist. He was known for his contributions to Bollywood, and possibly his best known works came from the film '' Anand'', songs including ''Kahin Door Jab Din Dal Jaaye'' and ''Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli'' (1971), and also ''Rajnigandha phool tumhare'' from the movie ''Rajnigandha'' (1974). Dr.Shriram Lagoo (16 November 1927 – 17 December 2019) was an Indian film and theatre actor, in Hindi and Marathi, in addition to being an ENT Surgeon. He was known for his character roles in films.
