Manvir Singh (born 6 November 1995) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Indian Super League club Mohun Bagan SG and the India national team. Early life Manvir Singh was born in Duhre (Duhra) village of Sangrur district of Punjab to his father Kuldip Singh. He has one sibling, a brother named Harkamal Singh. Manvir was inspired by his footballer father to take up the football. His father used to play in Punjab for JCT FC and represented Punjab in Santosh Trophy, but could not fulfill his dream of playing for the national team after he lost his arm in an accident and became wheelchair bound for life. Monvir took up the football and fulfiled his father's dream to play for India's national team.

Duhre is a village in Jalandhar district of Punjab State, India. It is located from district headquarter Jalandhar and from state capital Chandigarh. The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is an elected representative of village as per Panchayati raj (India). The Santosh Trophy, officially known as Hero Senior Men's National Football Championship due to sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp, is a state-level football competition contested by the state associations and government institutions under the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the sport's governing body in India. 2018–19 Indian Super League Season
The 2018–19 Indian Super League season was the fifth season of the Indian Super League, one of the top Indian professional football leagues. It was established in 2013. The regular season began on 29 September 2018 and concluded on 17 March 2019. The league took a mid-season break for around one month from 17 December 2018 to early January 2019 due to India's participation in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. The 2018 AFC U-23 Championship qualification was an international men's under-23 football competition which decided the participating teams of the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship. A total of 16 teams qualified to play in the final tournament, including China PR who qualified automatically as hosts.
