Manuel Cabral Aguado-Bejarano
Manuel Cabral Aguado-Bejarano (1827, Seville - 1891, Seville) was a Spanish painter in the Romantic style; best known for his Costumbrismo scenes. Biography He was the son of the painter, Antonio Cabral Bejarano. He actually began his studies with José Domínguez Bécquer and only later took lessons from his father. In 1845, he enrolled at what is now the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Santa Isabel de Hungría in Seville. After graduating, he was named an honorary "Painter to the Queen" ( Isabel II). Many years later, he became a Professor there. He received honorary mention at the Exposiciones Nacionales de Bellas Artes in 1858, 1864, 1879 and 1880, (in Cádiz), and in 1856, 1858, 1867 and 1878 in Seville. His great attention to the fine details of dress, architecture and everyday objects makes his paintings of significant documentary value. Julián Romea
Julián Romea Yanguas (Murcia, February 16, 1813Loeches, August 10, 1868) was a Spanish theater actor and writer. He heads a theatrical dynasty that also includes his nephew Julián Romea Parra and his son Alberto Romea Catalina. Biography Born in the Plaza de Santa Catalina, in the Murcian capital, Julián was the second of the six children of Mariano Romea y Bayona, an Aragonese who administered the assets of the Marquises of Espinardo in Murcia, and of Ignacia Yanguas and Prat de Rivera, a Valencian based in Madrid. In 1816 he moved with his family to Alcalá de Henares, but when his father was banished for his liberal past and fled to Portugal, his mother returned to Murcia with her children in 1823; there the young Romea studied the humanities at the Major Seminary of San Fulgencio; by then he already intervened as an actor in amateur pieces. The Carmen Thyssen Museum (Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga) is an art museum in the Spanish city Málaga. The main focus of the museum is 19th-century Spanish painting, predominantly Andalusian, based on the collection of Carmen Cervera, fifth wife of Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza. Since 1992 the Thyssen family's art collection has been on display at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid. However, Carmen Thyssen has been an art collector in her own right since the 1980s, and her personal collection is shown separately. It portrays the life of the leading French actress of the eighteenth century Adrienne Lecouvreur and her mysterious death. It was produced April 14, 1849. Adaptations In 1902 the play was used as the basis for the libretto of the opera ''Adriana Lecouvreur'' by Francesco Cilea and Arturo Colautti.
