Manon De Boer
Manon de Boer (1966, Kodaikanal, India) is an Indian-born Dutch video-artist. Biography She studied at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam. Since 2006 de Boer is part of the Brussels production and distribution platform Auguste Orts. She was also the co-founder of this platform. She lives and works in Brussels. The experience of time pervades the work of Manon de Boer. This is an extended experience of time, firmly anchored in the conditions of creation that incessantly produces a present and presence and resists a normative, functional and productive concept of time. Manon de Boer mainly works within the audiovisual realm. In connection with her films, she works increasingly with sculpture, installation and in 2021 she made a performance, Ghost Party (1) together with Latifa Laâbissi. Kodaikanal
Kodaikanal () is a hill station which is located in Dindigul district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Its name in the Tamil language means "The Gift of the Forest". Kodaikanal is referred to as the "Princess of Hill stations" and has a long history as a retreat and tourist destination. It was named after one of its most famous alumni, Dutch fine artist Willem de Kooning. The Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten (State Academy of Fine Arts) was founded in 1870 in Amsterdam. It is a classical academy, a place where philosophers, academics and artists meet to test and exchange ideas and knowledge. The school supports visual artists with a two-year curriculum. The Van Abbemuseum () is a museum of modern and contemporary art in central Eindhoven, Netherlands, on the east bank of the Dommel River. Established in 1936, the museum is named after its founder, Henri van Abbe, who loved modern art and wanted to enjoy it in Eindhoven.
