Mandalika (resort Area)
Mandalika is a coastal resort area in Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. It is designated as a special economic zone (''Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus'' / KEK) which stretches over 1,035.67 hectares of the southern coast of the island of Lombok. Mandalika is 17 km straight from Lombok International Airport and approximately 50 km from the city centre of Mataram, the province's capital. It was inaugurated by Indonesian President Joko Widodo on 20 October 2017. History The Indonesian government sold Mandalika to the Dubai Development Corporation for US$240 million in 2007. Due to the global financial crisis in 2008 funding dwindled, so the Emirates had no choice but to sell Mandalika back to the Indonesian government for half of the purchase price. The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), CDH is a United Nations body whose mission is to promote and protect human rights around the world. Indonesian Motorcycle Grand Prix
The Indonesian motorcycle Grand Prix is a motorcycling event that is part of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing World Championship. There have been three Grand Prix events held; in 1996 and 1997, both at the Sentul International Circuit, Bogor, West Java, and in 2022 at the Mandalika International Street Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. As a response to the 1997 Asian financial crisis, this race was dropped from the 1998 calendar. In February 2019, it was announced that the Indonesian GP would return in 2021 to be held at the Mandalika International Street Circuit, then under construction in the Mandalika resort area of Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. Mandalika International Street Circuit
Mandalika International Street Circuit (known as Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit for commercial purposes) is located in the Mandalika resort area on Lombok island, part of the West Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia. The circuit opened by hosting rounds of the Asia Talent Cup and Superbike World Championship in late 2021, followed by Grand Prix motorcycle races in 2022. The sports cluster and entertainment project, measuring 120 hectares, is expected to include the construction of hotels and other facilities.
