''Man, Woman and Wife'' is a 1929 American drama film directed by Edward Laemmle and starring Norman Kerry, Pauline Starke and Marian Nixon. It was based on a short story called ''Fallen Angels'', and the film was also sometimes known by this title.Munden p.227 It was originally made as a silent film, before a soundtrack and sound effects were added to it. Edward Laemmle
Edward Laemmle (October 25, 1887 – April 2, 1937) was an American film director of the silent era. He directed more than 60 films between 1920 and 1935. Biography Edward Laemmle was born in Chicago, Illinois and died in Los Angeles. He was the nephew of Carl Laemmle, founder of Universal Studios. His half sister was Carla Laemmle, dancer and actress and his brother was director Ernst Laemmle. He married Peppi Heller on April 8, 1923; the couple had two girls, Constance and Carlotta, and settled in Beverly Hills, California. Kenneth Daniel Harlan (July 26, 1895 – March 6, 1967) was an American actor of the silent film era, playing mostly romantic leads or adventurer types. Early life Harlan was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of George W. Harlan and actress Rita W. Harlan (born Sarah Wolff). He was a graduate of Saint Francis High School in Brooklyn, New York City, and Fordham University in the Bronx. Career At age seven, Harlan began acting on stage and working in vaudeville. He spent much of 1916 touring with a company of dancers that headlined future Ziegfeld performer Evan-Burrows Fontaine. His career spanned 25 years and included 200 features and serials, Harlan first entered the motion picture world in 1916 as the leading man under D.W. Griffith. George Gordon Byron, 6th Baron Byron (22 January 1788 – 19 April 1824), known simply as Lord Byron, was an English romantic poet and peer. He was one of the leading figures of the Romantic movement, and has been regarded as among the greatest of English poets. Among his best-known works are the lengthy narratives ''Don Juan'' and ''Childe Harold's Pilgrimage''; many of his shorter lyrics in ''Hebrew Melodies'' also became popular.
