''Man's Woman'' (Swedish: ''Mans kvinna'') is a 1945 Swedish historical drama film directed by Gunnar Skoglund and starring Edvin Adolphson, Birgit Tengroth and Holger Löwenadler.Qvist & Von Bagh p.30 It was shot at the Råsunda Studios in Stockholm. The film's sets were designed by the art director Nils Svenwall. It is based on the 1933 novel of the same title by Vilhelm Moberg. Edla Rothgardt
Edla (10th-century - 11th century), was a Slavic Viking Age woman. She was the mother of King Emund of Sweden and Queen Astrid of Norway. Tradition says Edla was the daughter of a Lechitic Tribal chief who has ruled part of terrain between Oder and Elbe . She was brought to Sweden as a prisoner of war c. 1000 at the same time or a little before, the arrival of Estrid of the Obotrites (''Estrid av obotriterna''). King Olof Skötkonung married Estrid but also had Edla as his mistress. She became the mother of Emund, Astrid, and probably Holmfrid. Snorre Sturlasson says that her children were sent to foster parents away from the royal court because Queen Estrid was not kind to them. Per-Axel Daniel Rank Arosenius (7 November 1920 – 21 March 1981) was a Swedish film and television actor of mostly supporting parts. His most prominent film role was that of Soviet defector Boris Kusenov in the thriller film ''Topaz'' (1969), directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Death After a dispute with the Swedish taxation authorities, Arosenius protested by setting himself on fire outside their office in Nacka. He died, age 60, in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
