Discography
Discography is the study and cataloging of published sound recordings, often by specified artists or within identified music genres. The exact information included varies depending on the type and scope of the discography, but a discography entry for a specific recording will often list such details as the names of the artists involved, the time and place of the recording, the title of the piece performed, release dates, chart positions, and sales figures.Roy Shuker. Popular Music: The Key Concepts'. Routledge, 2005. 80. A discography can also refer to the recordings catalogue of an individual artist, group, or orchestra. This is distinct from a sessionography, which is a catalogue of recording sessions, rather than a catalogue of the records, in whatever medium, that are made from those recordings. The two are sometimes confused, especially in jazz, as specific release dates for jazz records are often difficult to ascertain, and session dates are substituted as a means of organiz ... Roadsaw
Roadsaw is an American rock band, formed in 1994. To date, the band has released six studio albums. History Early years (1994–1997) In the year 2000, the band gave the following explanation for their name:"We were really, really stoned, we saw something we didn’t know what it was. We called it a Roadsaw. We joked about that being the name of our band, and then it stuck ... It’s like a big piece of heavy machinery tearing up the road"Roadsaw released their first 7-inch single, "Fancy Pants", with the B-side "Handed You Your Ass", on Curve of the Earth Records in 1994. The following year, they recorded their first album, ''One Million Dollars'' (sometimes styled as ''$1,000,000''), with the same label. The album featured the same two tracks from the previous single. Two years later, the band released their second full album, ''Nationwide'', originally with Curve of the Earth, and the re-released with M.I.A. Records. Chrome (band)
Chrome is an American rock band founded in San Francisco in 1976 by musician Damon Edge and associated with the 1970s post-punk movement. The group's raw sound blended elements of punk, psychedelia, and early industrial music, incorporating science-fiction themes, tape experimentation, distorted acid rock guitar, and electronic noise. They have been cited as forerunners of the 1980s industrial music boom. They found little commercial success as part of San Francisco's 1970s music scene, but developed a cult following in the United Kingdom and Germany following the release of the LPs '' Alien Soundtracks'' (1977) and ''Half Machine Lip Moves'' (1979). Edge died in 1995; subsequently, guitarist Helios Creed has revived the Chrome name for recordings and performances. History Chrome was formed in 1975 by Damon Edge (real name Thomas Wisse: drums, vocals, synths, production) and Gary Spain (bass guitar, violin) in San Francisco. While studying at the California Institute of the A ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Helios Creed
Barry Johnson (born on November 3, 1953), known professionally as Helios Creed, is an American guitarist, singer and bandleader. He first came to prominence in the mid-1970s with the San Francisco band Chrome, who were considered an early influence on industrial rock. Chrome broke up in the mid-1980s when founding member Damon Edge moved to Paris. Helios then recruited some local hard rock musicians and launched a solo career. Early life Creed was born Barry Johnson in Long Beach, California, and moved to Hawaii when he was six. His brother, two years older, introduced him to psychedelic music. When he was 12, his parents bought him his first guitar, and he became a serious student of the instrument immediately. Creed has said that he invented his trademark sound while trying to replicate the sound he heard in his head while "listening to Black Sabbath on LSD on headphones when I was a teenager". He moved to San Francisco in the mid-1970s, where he joined Chrome. History O ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Several albums have followed and were backed by national tours and international tours to Europe and North America including festivals with Mudhoney, Nirvana, L7, Helmet and Motörhead. The Cowslingers
The Cowslingers were a Cleveland, Ohio-based cowpunk band active from 1991 to 2004. Critics such as Ed Masley have noted that the band's musical style is difficult to classify, as it includes elements of rock 'n' roll, Americana, and rockabilly. Although they have won awards as a country music band, their sound is very different from conventional American 21st-century country music; instead, it sounds more similar to the music of Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash. History The Cowslingers were formed in 1991 when the band's singer, Greg Miller, was accepted into Kent State University. They released their debut EP, ''Bad Booze Rodeo'', in 1993 on Drink 'n' Drive Records, on which they also released their debut album, ''Off the Wagon'', in 1994. Their second album, ''That's Truckdriving'', was released later the same year. The band then became highly active touring throughout Ohio, which led to them starting to tour on the East and West Coast. Miller subsequently asked his brother, Ken M ... 7 Year Bitch
7 Year Bitch was an American punk rock band from Seattle, Washington. The band was active between 1990 and 1997 and released three albums over that time. The band formed at the same time as the emergence of the riot grrrl sub-genre, which is a sub-genre of punk music from the early to mid-1990s that emphasized the role of women in rock music. The Riot Grrrl movement began as a feminist response to the violence and misogyny that became more prominent in punk music in the mid-to-late 1980s, and 7 Year Bitch, an all-female punk band, emerged as part of that sub-genre. Biography Career 7 Year Bitch was formed in 1990 by vocalist Selene Vigil, guitarist Stefanie Sargent, bassist Elizabeth Davis and drummer Valerie Agnew. Vigil, Sargent, and Agnew had been playing together in the Seattle band Barbie's Dream Car when their bassist left for Europe. They subsequently recruited Davis and renamed their band after the movie ''The Seven Year Itch'', based on a suggestion by their frie ... Unsane (band)
Unsane is an American noise rock trio that was formed in New York City in 1988. Its music touches on elements of hardcore punk and metal. The writer Patrick Kennedy wrote, "While developing the blueprint for noise-metal bands to follow, Unsane cut a remarkable swath through underground music, inspiring a devoted, cult-like following around the world." History In 1988, the singer/guitarist Chris Spencer, bass guitarist Pete Shore and drummer Charlie Ondras were students at Sarah Lawrence College when they formed Lawn-Chair-Blisters before changing the name to Unsane. The band signed to Circuit Records and recorded tracks with Wharton Tiers for what was supposed to be their first album ''Improvised Munitions'', but the label did not release it. Unsane became part of the scene of loud, noisy, like-minded rock groups in New York City's East Village in the early 1990s. They often played gigs with bands like Pussy Galore, Cop Shoot Cop, Surgery, Helmet and the Reverb Motherfuckers. ...
