Maldives National Cricket Team
The Maldives national cricket team represents the country of the Maldives in international cricket. Although they did not become an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) until 2001, they have taken part in the ACC Trophy on every occasion since its inception in 1996. They have never progressed beyond the first round of the tournament. They became an associate member in 2017. With the separation of the ACC Trophy into Elite and Challenge divisions, following their performance at the 2006 ACC Trophy the Maldives have since competed in the Challenge divisions in both 2009 (when they came 3rd) and in the 2010 competition. The 2010 competition marked their first victory in an international tournament, defeating Saudi Arabia by 1 wicket in the final of the competition. Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. A typical Twenty20 game is completed in about two and a half hours, with each innings lasting around 70 minutes and an official 10-minute break between the innings. This is much shorter than previous forms of the game, and is closer to the timespan of other popular team sports. 1996 ACC Trophy
The 1996 ACC Trophy was a cricket tournament in Malaysia, which took place from 6 to 16 September 1996. It gave Associate and Affiliate members of the Asian Cricket Council experience of international one-day cricket and also helped form an essential part of regional rankings. The 2022 Asia Cup Qualifier was a men's cricket tournament which took place in Oman in August 2022 to determine qualification for the 2022 Asia Cup (which was originally scheduled to be played in 2020). The 2020 editions of the ACC Western and Eastern Region T20 tournaments were held in February and March 2020 by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), with thirteen teams competing in total (eight in the Western event and five in the Eastern event) with the aim of progressing to the qualifier. These were scheduled to be followed by the Asia Cup Qualifier tournament in Malaysia, which was due to be played in August 2020. However, in July 2020, the Asia Cup was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in the postponement of the Qualifier. 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier
The 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier was a cricket tournament that was held in Malaysia from 29 August to 6 September 2018. The event served as the qualifier for the 2018 Asia Cup. The top two teams from the group stage met in the final, with the winner progressing to the 2018 Asia Cup. The fixture between the United Arab Emirates and Nepal on 30 August 2018 was a One Day International (ODI) match. It was the first time both sides had played each other in an ODI match, with the UAE going on to win the fixture by 78 runs. The United Arab Emirates finished top of the group stage with eight points. They were joined in the final by Hong Kong, who finished second with seven points, and a better net run rate than Oman, who also finished with seven points. Shivani Mishra
Shivani Mishra (born 14 January 1973) is an Indian-born international cricket umpire and referee who is currently based in Qatar, working with the Qatar Cricket Association. She is an ACC-affiliated Level 3 Coach, Level 2 Umpire and ICC-affiliated Match Referee. Additionally, she is an ICC Asia Coach Educator. She has officiated cricket matches as an umpire in Qatari local matches such as Men's Division Matches and also International matches such as the ICC Men's T20 Qualifier conducted in Kuwait. On 20 January 2019, Shivani became the first female on-field umpire, to officiate in a men's T20I. She was the first Asian woman to be a part of the ICC Development Panel for umpires. Al Amerat Cricket Stadium
Oman Cricket Academy Ground, also known as the Al Amerat Cricket Stadium, is a cricket ground in Muscat, Oman. The ground is owned by the Oman Cricket Board. In January 2021, the International Cricket Council (ICC) gave accreditation for the Ministry Turf 1 at the stadium to host Test cricket. In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Usually two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket. Ravija Sandaruwan
Ravija Sandaruwan (born 22 June 1992) is a Sri Lankan-born cricketer who plays for the Kuwait national cricket team. He made his List A debut for Saracens Sports Club in the 2012–13 Premier Limited Overs Tournament in Sri Lanka on 27 December 2012. He made his first-class debut, also for Saracens Sports Club, in the 2012–13 Premier League Tournament on 30 March 2013. In April 2018, he represented Kuwait in Western sub-region group of the 2018–19 ICC World Twenty20 Asia Qualifier tournament, playing in all six matches.
