Malcolm Harwood
Malcolm Harwood (born 1938 in Oxford) is an English professional poker player who learnt how to play whilst doing his National Service. He later appeared in Channel 4's Late Night Poker, where he reached the Grand Final in seasons 1, 2, and 5. He also won the European Championship in 1992 and the Scottish Masters in 1997. In 2005 he appeared on the poker chat show Heads Up with Richard Herring to discuss his career. Malcolm has also appeared several times as a commentator on Poker Night Live. Poker
Poker is a family of comparing card games in which players wager over which hand is best according to that specific game's rules. It is played worldwide, however in some places the rules may vary. ''Late Night Poker'' is a British television series that helped popularize poker in the 2000s. It used "under the table" cameras that enabled the viewer to see each player's cards. The show originally ran for six series between 1999 and 2002. After a couple of spin-off series, Late Night Poker Ace and Late Night Poker Masters, it returned in 2008. Late Night Poker 2011 The series returned to Channel 4 for its 10th series in 2011. Sponsored by Gala Coral Group, 32 players competed for the $150,000 first prize. ''Heads Up with Richard Herring'' or ''HUWRH'', is a British celebrity chat show written by and starring Richard Herring, who is best known as one half of comedy duo Lee and Herring, the stars of BBC Two shows ''Fist of Fun'' and '' This Morning With Richard Not Judy''. ''HUWRH'' featured professional poker players and celebrities talking about their lives, their careers and their love of poker. The title is a reference to poker terminology, meaning a game where only two players remain at the end of the game. Richard would interview each guest individually during the show. Poker Night Live was the United Kingdom's first live Internet poker show, broadcast between 2005 and 2007 on Pokerzone, usually between 9pm and 1am. Versions of it have been broadcast worldwide.
