Abdussamad Samadani
M.P. Abdussamad Samadani (born 1 January 1959) is an Indian politician, orator, writer and scholar. He knows Malayalam, English, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Persian and Sanskrit languages. Samadani was awarded Doctor of Philosophy degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Personal life M.P. Abdussamad Samadani was born as son of M.P. Abdul Hameed Haidari and Ottakath Zainab on 1 January 1959 at Kottakkal, Malappuram district. Manjalamkuzhi Ali
Manjalamkuzhi Ali is an Indian politician and previous minister in the Government of Kerala. He was elected to Kerala Legislative Assembly from Perinthalmanna constituency in 2016. An entrepreneur-turned-politician, Ali left the LDF and joined Indian Union Muslim League on the eve of the 2011 Kerala Legislative Assembly election. He was elected as an MLA from Perinthalmanna in Malappuram district. In the previous two elections held in 2001 and 2006, he was elected to the assembly from Mankada segment as an LDF independent. General elections were held in India between 16 and 20 March 1977 to elect the members of the 6th Lok Sabha. The elections took place during the Emergency period, which expired on 21 March 1977, shortly before the final results were announced. 1971 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India between 1 and 10 March 1971 to elect members of the 5th Lok Sabha. They were the fifth general elections since independence in 1947. The 27 Indian states and union territories were represented by 518 constituencies, each with a single seat. 1962 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India between 19 and 25 February 1962 to elect members of the 3rd Lok Sabha. Unlike the previous two elections, each constituency elected a single member. Jawaharlal Nehru won another landslide victory in his third and final election campaign. The Indian National Congress received 44.7% of the vote and won 361 of the 494 elected seats. This was only slightly lower than in the previous two elections and they still held over 70% of the seats in the Lok Sabha. 1957 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India between 24 February and 9 June 1957, the second elections to the Lok Sabha after independence. They were held five years after the 1951–52 elections in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of India. Elections to many state legislatures were held simultaneously. There were 494 seats elected using first past the post voting system. Out of the 403 constituencies, 91 elected two members, while the remaining 312 elected a single member. The multi-seat constituencies were abolished before the next election. Under the leadership of Jawaharlal Nehru, the Indian National Congress easily won a second term in power, taking 371 of the 494 seats. They gained an extra seven seats (the size of the Lok Sabha had been increased by five) and their vote share increased from 45.0% to 47.8%.
