Majalgaon (Vidhan Sabha Constituency)
Majalgaon Assembly constituency is one of the 288 Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) constituencies of Maharashtra state in western India. Majalgaon (constituency number 229) is one of the six Vidhan Sabha constituencies located in the Beed district. It covers the entire Dharur and Wadwani tehsils and part of Majalgaon tehsil of this district. Majalgaon is part of the Beed Lok Sabha constituency along with all other Vidhan Sabha segments in this district, namely Georai, Parli, Beed, Ashti and Kaij. Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha
The Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha or the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is the lower house of the legislature of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is situated in the Nariman Point area of South Mumbai in the capital Mumbai. Presently, 288 members of the Legislative Assembly are directly elected from the single-seat constituencies. The members of the upper house, the Maharashtra Vidhan Parishad (the legislative council) are indirectly elected through an electoral college. Sessions The budget session and the monsoon session are convened in Mumbai whereas the winter session is convened in the auxiliary capital Nagpur. Indian Congress (Socialist)
Indian Congress (Socialist) (IC(S)) also known as Congress (Secular) was a political party in India between 1978 and 1986. The party was formed through a split in the Indian National Congress. Initially the party was known as the Indian National Congress (Urs) and was led by D. Devraj Urs. It broke away from the parent party in 1978 following Indira Gandhi's drubbing in the 1977 General Elections. Majalgaon is a municipal council in Beed district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the headquarters of the Majalgaon taluka of Beed district. Majalgaon is situated at northestern side of Beed district. The Majalgaon Dam has been constructed across the Sindphana river, which is a major tributary of the Godawari river. This dam and the Majalgaon Right Bank Canal are components of the Jayakwadi Project Stage II. The project was approved by the government of Maharashtra in 1976 for an estimated cost of 5,433 lakhs. 2019 Maharashtra State Assembly Elections
The 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election was held on 21 October 2019 to elect all 288 members of the state's Legislative Assembly. After a 61.4% turnout in the election, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena (SHS) won a majority. Following differences over the government formation, the alliance was dissolved, precipitating a political crisis. Since a council of ministers had not been formed after no party could manage to form the government, President's rule was imposed in the state. 2014 Maharashtra State Assembly Elections
The Indian state of Maharashtra has a bicameral legislature, comprising two houses. The lower house, known as the Legislative Assembly ("Vidhan Sabha" in Marathi), is directly elected by the people and is the more powerful of the two houses. Nationalist Congress Party
The Nationalist Congress Party ( NCP) is one of the nine national parties in India. The party generally supports Indian nationalism and Gandhian secularism. It is the largest opposition party in Maharashtra and is also a significant party in other states. Party formation and performance The NCP was formed on 10 June 1999, by Sharad Pawar, P. A. Indian National Congress (U)
The Indian National Congress (U) was a breakaway faction of the Indira Gandhi-led Congress (I), formed in July 1979 by D. Devaraj Urs, the then Chief Minister of Karnataka.
