Alan Mahon (judge)
Alan Mahon (born 3 March 1951) is a retired Irish judge who served as a judge of the Court of Appeal from 2014 to 2018 and a judge of the Circuit Court from 2002 to 2014. He was educated at Clongowes Wood College, University College Dublin and the King's Inns. He was called to the Bar in 1976, and to the Inner Bar in 1988. He was appointed as a judge of the Circuit Court in April 2002. He was appointed as a judge of the Tribunal of Inquiry into Certain Planning Matters and Payments in September 2002 and appointed chairman of the tribunal in July 2003. In October 2014, he became a judge of the Court of Appeal. James Patrick Mahon
Charles James Patrick Mahon (17 March 1800 – 15 June 1891), known as the O'Gorman Mahon or James Patrick Mahon, was an Irish nationalist journalist, barrister, parliamentarian and international mercenary. Personal life Mahon, the eldest of four children, was born into a prominent Roman Catholic family in Ennis, County Clare. His father was Patrick Mahon of New Park, who took part in the Rebellion of 1798; his mother Barbara, a considerable heiress, was the only daughter of James O'Gorman of Ennis. Mahon studied at Clongowes Wood College, where he was one of the earliest pupils, and at Trinity College Dublin, where he took his BA in 1822 and his MA in law in 1832. Until his father's death in 1821, he was sent an annual allowance of £500; afterward, he inherited half the family property, also becoming a magistrate for Clare. Simon Mahon (4 April 1914 – 19 October 1986) was a British Labour Party politician. Biography Simon Mahon was born into a prominent Roman Catholic family of Irish descent in Bootle. Peter Mahon (4 May 1909 – 29 September 1980) was a British Labour Party politician. Peter Mahon was born into an Irish Roman Catholic family in Bootle which was immersed in Liverpool Labour politics. He joined the Labour Party in 1924, at the age of 15. His father, Alderman Simon Mahon (1886–1961), was a local politician, who also stood unsuccessfully for Parliament. His brother, Simon Mahon, was elected MP for Bootle in 1955. His great-nephew, Peter Dowd, is the present Labour MP for Bootle, and served as Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury until 2020. Peter Thomas Mahon (1 November 1923 – 11 August 1986) was a New Zealand High Court judge. He led a Commission of Inquiry into the 1979 crash of Air New Zealand Flight 901 into Mount Erebus. Crumbles Murders
The Crumbles Murders are two separate and unrelated crimes which occurred on a shingle beach located between Eastbourne and Pevensey Bay, England—locally referred to as "the Crumbles"—in the 1920s. The first of these two murders is the 1920 bludgeoning murder of 17-year-old Irene Munro, committed by two men: Jack Field and William Gray. The second murder to occur upon the Crumbles is the 1924 murder of 38-year-old Emily Kaye, who was murdered by her lover, Patrick Mahon. The three perpetrators of the two "Crumbles Murders" were all tried at Lewes assizes before Mr Justice Avory. All three were executed by hanging at Wandsworth Prison. Mark Mahon (born April 8, 1957) is a former Representative in the House of Representatives of the U.S. state of Florida. As of July 2015, he is the Chief Judge of Florida's 4th Circuit Court. He resides in Jacksonville, Florida. Mahon received his bachelor's degree from the Florida State University in 1978. In addition, he received his Juris Doctor from Florida State University in 1981. In 2007, he was appointed by governor Charlie Crist as a circuit judge for the 4th Judicial Circuit of Jacksonville, Florida. This ended his term as a Representative of the 16th District of Florida. Mark Mahon (born November 11, 1965 in Vankleek Hill, Ontario) is a Canadian-German former ice hockey player, who has been serving as a coach and Director of Sport since the end of his playing career. Mahon was most recently the Director of Sport at Kölner Haie in Germany's top-tier Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Playing career Mahon attended the Université Concordia in Montreal from 1986 to 1989 and was named Hockey All-Canadian in 1989. He was presented with the Dr. Robert J. Brodrick Award as Concordia’s Athlete of the Year the same year. Mahon spent most of his professional career in Germany, playing for Dinslakener EC, EC Braunlage, the Wedemark Scorpions and the Hamburg Crocodiles. Mark Mahon (born 1 April 1973) is an Irish film director, writer and producer from Cork city, Ireland. At the age of 22, Mahon was severely injured in an accident and spent several months in hospital recovering. During this time, he started writing. He wrote several screenplays, one novel and one graphic novel called ''Freedom Within the Heart'', which as an unproduced screenplay, won Best Screenplay at the 2005 Action on Film International Film Festival. He subsequently set up a film production company, Maron Pictures. In 2007, Mahon directed his first feature-length film ''Strength and Honour'' starring Michael Madsen and Vinnie Jones. It was released on 20 November 2007 in Ireland and was tested on a limited capacity in the United States on 7 December 2007.
