The Maharashtra cricket team is a domestic cricket team that represents Maharashtra state in domestic cricket of India. It is govern by Maharashtra Cricket Association. It plays its home matches at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. As of 3 October 2022, Maharashtra have won Ranji trophy 2 times and remained runner up 3 times, won Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 1 time, remained runner up 1 time. In Vijay Hazare trophy it has been winner in West zone in 1994-95. It is one of three teams based in Maharashtra, the others being Mumbai cricket team and the Vidarbha cricket team. History Maharashtra was one of the 15 teams that competed in the first Ranji Trophy tournament in 1934–35, when, captained by D. B. Deodhar, it lost its inaugural match narrowly to Bombay. Ankit Bawne
Ankit Ramdas Bawne (born 17 December 1992) is an Indian cricketer who plays for Maharashtra cricket team, Maharashtra in Indian domestic cricket. A right-handed middle-order batsman with a first-class average of over 50, he has represented India Under-23s and West Zone. Bawne made his first-class debut only a week after his 15th birthday in 2007 against Karnataka cricket team, Karnataka. He won the 'Best Under-15 Cricketer' award at the BCCI Awards in 2009. Career Bawne averaged 60.30 in 2012–13 Ranji Trophy making more than 600 runs including five fifties in succession. He made 58 and 55 against Delhi and an unbeaten 155 against Karnataka. Chandu Borde
Chandrakant Gulabrao "Chandu" Borde (born 21 July 1934), is a former cricketer who was a member of the Indian team between 1958 and 1970. Following his retirement, Borde became a cricket administrator, serving as the Chairman of national selectors. He has received various awards from the Government of India for his contributions to cricket, on and off the field. His younger brother Ramesh Borde was also a cricketer who played for West Zone and Maharashtra in domestic cricket. He received the C. K. Vijay Hazare
Vijay Samuel Hazare (11 March 1915 – 18 December 2004) was an Indian cricketer. He captained India in 14 matches between 1951 and 1953. In India's 25th Test match, nearly 20 years after India achieved Test status, he led India to its first ever Test cricket win (and the only victory under his captaincy) in 1951–52 against England at Madras, winning by an innings and eight runs in a match that began on the day that King George VI died. Early life Hazare was born in Sangli, into Marathi Christian family, in the then Bombay Presidency of British India in 1916, one of eight children of a school teacher. The Hyderabad cricket team is a domestic cricket team based in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana, run by the Hyderabad Cricket Association. It is part of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group and has seen scattered success over its many years in the Ranji Trophy circuit. Karnataka cricket team represents the Indian state of Karnataka in domestic cricket competitions. The Punjab cricket team is a first-class cricket team that represents the Indian state of Punjab. They have qualified for only one Ranji Trophy semi-final in the last five seasons and made it to the final in the 2004–05 tournament, where they lost to Railways in the first innings.
