Maharajah's College
Maharajah's College, or M. R. College, established in 1879, it is an autonomous institution located in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. History The institution was founded by Sri Pusapati Vijayarama Gajapathi Raju, the Maharajah of Vizianagram. It was started as a middle school in 1857 and upgraded to a high school in 1868. It was upgraded to a college in 1879 under the University of Madras. Academic Programmes The college has 21 departments offering 19 undergraduate and postgraduate courses in arts and science streams affiliated to the Andhra University. There are about 150 permanent and temporary academic and support staff members with an annual intake of about 2,192 students in 2009. The Maharaja's College is a government college of higher education located in Kochi, Kerala. Established in 1875, it is one of the oldest colleges in India. Dwaram Bhavanarayana Rao
Dwaram Bhavanarayana Rao () (15 June 1924 – 24 July 2000) was famous Violinist and son of legendary Padmasri Dwaram Venkataswamy Naidu. He is born to Dwaram Venkataswamy Naidu and Venkata Jaggayyamma on 15 June 1924 at Bapatla. He is married to Gummuluri Varadamma. He was educated in Chennai. He was trained by his father, and the late Prof. P. Sambamurthy. He has worked as Principal of Maharajah's Government College of Music and Dance at Vizianagaram from 1962 to 1973. He has also worked as Principal of Government Music College at Vijayawada. He has translated the Brihaddeshi of Matanga Muni, Chaturdandi Prakasika of Pandit Venkatamakhi and Dattilam of Dattila Muni into Telugu language and published it. He was also translated some of the music theory books but they were not in print. He died of Cardiac arrest at his residence in Visakhapatnam on 24 July 2000. Kandala Subrahmanyam
Kandala Subrahmanya Tilak (15 July 1920 – 8 June 2018) was an Indian lawyer and politician. Biography He is son of Shri Seshasayi and Smt Raja Rajeswari and born at Visakhapatnam on 15 July 1920. He was educated at Maharajah's College, Vizianagaram, Benaras Hindu University and Raja Lakhamgonda Law College, Belgaum. He led a strike involving the students of the local colleges in Vizianagaram from 9 to 27 August 1942. He was arrested on 27 August and sent to rigorous imprisonment for four months. Kala Venkata Rao
Kala Venkata Rao was an Indian independence activist and politician. He served as the Minister for Revenue in the governments of the Madras Presidency and Andhra Pradesh. He also served as the Minister of Finance in the latter. A member of the Indian National Congress, Rao served as vice-president and general secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) between 1939 and 1946. He also served as general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) between 1949 and 1951. Indukuri Ramakrishnam Raju (31 August 1934 – 14 August 1994), populary known by his pen name Rajasri, was an Indian lyricist, screenwriter, film director, and music composer in Telugu cinema. He has worked on nearly 1000 films, a majority of them are dubbed films. He was popularly referred to as ''Anuvaada Brahma'' (). Gurajada Venkata Apparao (21 September 1862 – 30 November 1915) was an Indian playwright, dramatist, poet, and writer known for his works in Telugu theatre.
