Magnifica Presenza
''Magnificent Presence'' ( it, Magnifica presenza, also known as ''A Magnificent Haunting'') is a 2012 Italian drama film directed by Ferzan Özpetek. Plot Pietro Pontechievello is a gay man who rents a large house in the historic center of Rome. In the abode Pietro quickly learns of strange and mysterious presences. The house is haunted by the ghosts of members of a theater company dating back to the times of fascism, and now they do not know that are dead. Indeed, the ghosts believe they are on leave to participate in a new show, and Pietro does not know how to drive the intruders from the building. Ferzan Özpetek
Ferzan Özpetek (born 3 February 1959) is a Turkish-Italian film director and screenwriter, residing in Italy. Biography Ferzan Özpetek was born in Istanbul in 1959. In 1976, he decided to move to Italy to study Cinema History at Sapienza University of Rome. He completed his education attending art history and costume design classes at the Navona Academy. He also attended director classes at the Silvio D'Amico National Academy of Dramatic Art. After receiving stage experience with Julian Beck's Living Theatre, he moved to the cinema landscape, by working as a director assistant to Massimo Troisi, Maurizio Ponzi, Ricky Tognazzi, Sergio Citti and Francesco Nuti. His first work was as Troisi's assistant director for ''Scusate il ritardo'', followed by Ponzi's '' Sono contento'', where he had a small role performing as a “ madonnaro". Loredana Cannata (born 14 July 1975) is an Italian movie, television and theater actress. Biography Born in Ragusa, Italy, Cannata studied acting while growing up in her native Sicily. She started early on to play leading roles in several stage plays, some of which based on works by Luigi Pirandello (''Liolà''), Euripides (''The Trojan Women'') and Arthur Schnitzler (''La Ronde''). In 1999 she made her film debut in ''The Man-Eater'' directed by Aurelio Grimaldi. Cannata has also appeared in numerous television series throughout her career. Anna Proclemer, sometimes credited Anna Vivaldi (30 May 1923 – 25 April 2013), was an Italian stage, film and television actress and voice actress. Born in Trento, Proclemer was the daughter of an engineer and a housewife. She debuted on stage in 1942, at the Rome University Theatre with the play ''Our Goddess'' directed by Massimo Bontempelli. In 1946 she married the writer Vitaliano Brancati, with whom she had a daughter, Antonia, born 6 May 1947, and from whom she separated shortly before his death in 1954.
