Maghreb De Fes (basketball)
Maghreb Association Sportive de Fès, commonly known as Maghreb de Fes or MAS Fes, is a Moroccan professional basketball team located in Fes. The team competes in the Division Excellence. Home games are played in the Salle 11 Janvier (11 January Hall), which was constructed in 2004 and holds 3,000 places. The club has won five Moroccan championships, seven Moroccan cups and one African continental championship, in 1998. Division Excellence
The Division Excellence (DEX-H) is the top professional basketball league in Morocco. Founded in 1957, the league currently consists of 16 teams. The league is administered by the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation (FRMBB). The current defending champions are AS Salé, who have won the league seven seasons in a row. Fez or Fes (; ar, فاس, fās; zgh, ⴼⵉⵣⴰⵣ, fizaz; french: Fès) is a city in northern inland Morocco and the capital of the Fès-Meknès administrative region. It is the second largest city in Morocco, with a population of 1.11 million according to the 2014 census. The FIBA Africa Basketball League (formerly named the FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup) was the highest caliber men's professional basketball competition for clubs until 2020, organized by the FIBA Africa and played by the champions of the leagues of the African countries. The league was replaced by the Basketball Africa League (BAL) from 2020. History The competition was founded in 1971. A year later, in 1972, Hit Trésor SC won the inaugural championship.
