Virgin And Child With Two Angels (Botticelli, Naples)
The ''Virgin and Child with Two Angels'' is a painting by the Italian Renaissance master Sandro Botticelli, dating to . It is in the Museo Nazionale di Capodimonte, in Naples. The work was once attributed to Filippino Lippi, master of Botticelli. The composition essentially derives from Botticelli's master (and Filippino Lippi's father) Filippo Lippi.Legouix, 32 The faces and other details suggest that the work is of around the same period as Botticelli's '' Fortitude'' and his other early Madonnas. The composition is similar to that of Andrea del Verrocchio's '' Virgin and Child with Two Angels'', probably dating to a year or two earlier. Virgin And Child With Two Angels (Botticelli, Strasbourg)
''Virgin and Child with two Angels'' is a panel painting by the Italian Renaissance painter Sandro Botticelli. It is on display in the Musée des Beaux-Arts of Strasbourg, France. Its inventory number is 558. Owing to its comparatively poor condition, due to the peeling off of some tempera layers as well as some ancient restoration attempts, the painting had not unanimously been attributed to Botticelli himself: critics like Bernard Berenson, who had at first declared it to be genuine, later attributed it to Botticelli's workshop. Today, art historians largely agree that it is indeed an early painting by Sandro Botticelli. Some disagreement existed on ''how'' early, given that the painting displays clear influences of Botticelli's master Filippo Lippi (which would put it in the early 1460s), but also an obvious knowledge of the works of Andrea del Verrocchio (which would put it in the later 1460s). It is now agreed upon that the painting was made in the year 1468 or 1469. ''Virg ...

Virgin And Child With Two Angels (Cimabue)
''Virgin and Child with Two Angels'' is a panel painting by 13th-century Italian artist Cimabue, in egg tempera on a poplar panel, dated to c. 1280. It has been held by the National Gallery in London since 2000. The painting measures . It depicts the Virgin and Child seated together on a throne, accompanied by two angels with long feathered wings. The composition is based on Byzantine models, but modified for a Western European audience: the throne has become three dimensional, and the figures of the Virgin and Child are more human and less stylised than similar traditional Byzantine icons such as the Hodegetria. It was rediscovered at Benacre Hall near Lowestoft in Suffolk in 2000, after the death of Sir John Gooch, 12th Baronet, as the contents of the house were being prepared for an auction sale. It may have been acquired in Florence in the early 19th century by his ancestor, Sir Edward Gooch, 6th Baronet, and survived a fire at the house in the 1920s. It is one o ...

Virgin And Child With Two Angels (Verrocchio)
''The Virgin and Child with Two Angels'' (Italian, sometimes: ''Madonna del Latte'') is a painting by the Italian Renaissance painter Andrea del Verrocchio, dating from circa 1467–1469. It is in the National Gallery, London, United Kingdom. Description The theme derives from Filippo Lippi's works such as the '' Lippina'' (c. 1465), with Mary holding the child Jesus on her womb, with the help of two baby angels. The scene is set in a marble enclosure, a reference to the ''hortus conclusus''. Behind it, in the background, is a stylized landscape. Madonna And Child (Lippi)
''Madonna with Child'' (Italian: ''Madonna col Bambino e angeli'' or ''Lippina'') is a painting by the Italian Renaissance artist Filippo Lippi. The date in which it was executed is unknown, but most art historians agree that it was painted during the last part of Lippi's career, between 1450 and 1465. It is one of the few works by Lippi which was not executed with the help of his workshop and was an influential model for later depictions of the Madonna and Child, including those by Sandro Botticelli. The painting is housed in the Uffizi Gallery, Florence, Italy, and is therefore commonly called “The Uffizi Madonna” among art historians. Background Fra Filippo was born in 1406 in Florence to a poor family where his father was a butcher. He entered a monastery with his brother at an early age. Later in his life, he was moved to a monastery in Prato, and here fell in love with a nun, Lucrezia Buti, with whom he had two children. He encountered more trouble when his pat ...

Madonna And Child Enthroned With Two Angels
''Madonna and Child Enthroned with Two Angels'' is a c.1410-1415 tempera and gold on panel painting by Gentile da Fabriano. Its original provenance is unknown, though its small size probably means it was made for private devotion. Mauro Minardi, ''Gentile da Fabriano'', Skira, Milano 2005 It is first recorded in the early 20th century, when it was in the Casa Persicini in Belluno, which suggests it links to the painter's time in Venice. It is now in the Philbrook Museum of Art, Philbrook Art Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
