Maddie Ward
Maddie Grace Ward (born 19 January 2005) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Nottinghamshire and Northern Diamonds. She plays as a wicket-keeper and right-handed batter. Early life Ward was born on 19 January 2005 in Nottingham. Domestic career Ward made her county debut in 2018, for Nottinghamshire against Kent. She did not play again for the side until 2021, making six appearances in the Twenty20 Cup. She took five wickets at an average of 7.40 for the side in the 2024 ECB Women's County One-Day. Ward was named in the Lightning and The Blaze Academies in 2021, 2022 and 2023 before moving to the Northern Diamonds Academy in 2024. On 30 April 2024, she was included in a senior Northern Diamonds matchday squad for the first time. She made her debut for the side on 26 August 2024, against Sunrisers in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, scoring 20 and taking one catch. The 2021 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2021 Vitality Women's County T20, was the 12th cricket Women's Twenty20 Cup tournament, taking place in April and May, with 36 teams taking part: 34 county teams plus Scotland and Wales. There was no overall winner, with Hertfordshire, Nottinghamshire, Lancashire, Kent, Gloucestershire and Somerset winning their respective regions. 2023 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup
The 2023 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup was the first edition of the ICC Women's Under-19 Cricket World Cup, hosted by South Africa in 2023. The tournament was moved from its original slot at the end of 2021 to January 2023 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sixteen teams competed in the tournament, initially divided into four groups. India, England, Australia and New Zealand progressed to the semi-finals of the competition. In the semi-finals, India beat New Zealand by 8 wickets and England beat Australia by 3 runs. It is taking place between April and July 2024, with 35 teams taking part, organised into four regional groups.
