Mad Doctor Of Blood Island
''The Mad Doctor of Blood Island'' is a 1969 Filipino horror film, co-directed by Eddie Romero and Gerardo de Leon, and starring John Ashley, Angelique Pettyjohn, Eddie Garcia and Ronald Remy. It was the third in a series of four Filipino horror films produced by Romero and Kane W. Lynn known as the "Blood Island" series, which also included '' Terror Is a Man'', ''Brides of Blood'' and '' Beast of Blood''. Beverly Miller was associate producer on this film, and later went on to co-produce several other Filipino horror films. This film dared to go a step further than ''Brides of Blood'' in the nudity and gore department. The plot involves a man traveling to an island where a mad scientist named Dr. Lorca is creating human/ plant mutants with chlorophyll blood out of the local natives. Eddie Romero
Edgar Sinco Romero, (July 7, 1924 – May 28, 2013), commonly known as Eddie Romero, was a Filipino film director, film producer and screenwriter. Early life Romero was born on July 7, 1924. His father was José E. Romero, the first Philippine Ambassador to the Court of St. James's. His mother was Pilar Guzman Sinco, a schoolteacher and the sister of University of the Philippines President Vicente G. Sinco who signed the United Nations Charter in 1945 on behalf of the Philippines. His brother was Jose V. Romero Jr., former Philippine Ambassador to Italy. He studied at Silliman University. ''The Blood Demon'' (''Die Schlangengrube und das Pendel'' in West Germany), also known as ''The Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism'', ''The Snake Pit and the Pendulum'', and ''Castle of the Walking Dead'', is a 1967 West German horror film directed by Harald Reinl and starring Christopher Lee, Karin Dor, and Lex Barker. Monang Carvajal (born Patrocinio Tagaroma Carvajal; June 30, 1898 – 22 June 1980) was a Filipina film actress best known for her roles in thriller and horror movies. She was dubbed the "Queen of Horror Pictures." Biography Carvajal was born in Manila on June 30, 1898, the daughter of Spanish Zarzuela actors Don Jose Carvajal and Patrocinio Tagaroma de Carvajal. By the age of 4, she was appearing on stage, appearing alongside her parents. In her teens, she was touring the bodabil circuit together with Manuel Silos as a comedy duo known as "Monang & Sano." Tita Muñoz
Maria Theresa "Tita" Sanchez Muñoz (1926/27 – April 11, 2009) was a Filipina actress. Muñoz started her career in radio in the 1950s. She moved to Sampaguita Pictures where she played mostly character roles. She received a FAMAS Best Supporting Actress nomination, for ''Lilet'' (1971). During the 1960s, Muñoz and Ronald Remy became the first actors to ever kiss on Philippine television. In 1990, Muñoz portrayed the mother of Leslie Cheung's character in Wong Kar-wai's ''Days of Being Wild''. Personal life Tita is survived by brothers Rafael and Cayetano, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews including the Muñoz actor-brothers Leandro, Carlo and Angelo (sons of Tita's late younger brother Louie) who are now based in the United States.
