The North Macedonia ambassador in Washington, D.C. is the official representative of the Government of North Macedonia to the Government of the United States. The United States formally recognized North Macedonia in 1994, with full diplomatic relations established in 1995. Nikola Dimitrov
Nikola Dimitrov (born 30 September 1972) is a Macedonian politician and diplomat, who has served as Minister of Foreign Affairs for North Macedonia from 31 May 2017 to 30 August 2020. He also served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2000 and Macedonian ambassador to the United States and then the Netherlands. In 2014, he turned down an appointment as Macedonia's new ambassador to Russia. Dimitrov, together with his Greek counterpart Nikos Kotzias, signed the Prespa agreement in 2018 in efforts of resolving the Macedonia naming dispute.
