Portuguese ( or, in full, ) is a western Romance language of the Indo-European language family, originating in the Iberian Peninsula of Europe. Magno Macedo Novaes (born 30 March 1983) is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Career Born in São Paulo, Novaes arrived in France in 2005, where he played in the third-tier Championnat National for AS Moulins and AC Arles-Avignon. In 2008, he joined SC Bastia of Ligue 2. Novaes played all but two games as the Corsicans won the third division in 2010–11. Paulo Jorge Morais Rebelo de Macedo (born May 28, 1968), is an Angolan former professional basketball player and a current coach. Macedo, who is 190 cm (6'2") in height, has been a prominent point guard both at the service of the Angola national basketball team and with Primeiro de Agosto. For Angola, he played at the 1986, 1990 and 1994 world championships as well as at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Moreover, he won the FIBA Africa championships in 1989, 1992, 1993 and in 2013 as a coach. Mirta Macedo (6 July 1939 - 25 July 2012) was an Uruguayan social worker, writer and human rights activist. She is best known for her writing, some of which focus on her time as a political prisoner in Montevideo. Macedo also worked to expose the torture and sexual abuse that she and other women faced in prison. Biography Macedo was born on July 6, 1939, in Treinta y Tres. Growing up in Treinta y Tres, Macedo felt that there were many problems in the city that needed attention. When she was 20, she moved to Montevideo and started studying at the Escuela de Servicio Social. She also joined the Unión de Jóvenes Comunistas. Macedo became a militant communist.
