''Autopsy'' (original Italian title ''Macchie solari'', also known as ''The Victim'' and ''Corpse'') is a 1975 Italian giallo-horror film directed by Armando Crispino. It achieved a ''cult'' status for its truculent morgue scenes. The Italian title translates as ''Sunspots''. Plot During a rash of unusual suicides in Rome that scientists theorize are being caused by sunspots, a young female morgue doctor (Mimsy Farmer) is told by a priest that he thinks his sister was murdered, although he is being told it was suicide. They team up to investigate the cause of his sister's death. Armando Crispino (18 October 1924 – 6 October 2003) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. He was born in Biella, Piedmont. He directed nine films between 1966 and 1975. He also wrote for nine films between 1965 and 1975. He also directed two Italian horror films, ''Autopsy'' and ''The Dead Are Alive''. Angela Goodwin (born Angela Bucci, 1 August 1925 – 25 March 2016), was an Italian stage, film and television actress. Life and career Born in Rome, Goodwin was the daughter of an Italian-American father, and spent her youth in the US where she enrolled at several drama courses and started her professional career with a stage company in Washington. In the second half of the 1960s she came back to Italy, where she continued to work on stage with some of the major companies of the time, including the ones directed by Orazio Costa, Vittorio Gassman, Giancarlo Sbragia and Garinei & Giovannini. Ernesto Colli (16 May 1940 – 19 November 1982) was an Italian film, television and stage actor. Life and career Born in Biella, Colli graduated from liceo classico, then he started acting in some amateur dramatics and starred in two lost Super 8 films. After one year of university he decided to abandon his studies to enroll the Fersen drama school in Rome.
