Mable Burton Ringling (March 14, 1875 – June 8, 1929) was an art collector who with her husband created the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art. Biography She was born in Moons, Ohio on March 14, 1875. She had four sisters and one brother. Mable left her Ohio factory job and headed to Chicago in pursuit of a husband. There in Chicago, she met John Nicholas Ringling. They wed in Hoboken, New Jersey when Mable was 30 and John was 39 years old. John and Mabel, in 1924, began the creation of their dream home in Sarasota, Florida. They called the house Cà d'Zan Ca' d'Zan () is a Mediterranean revival mansion in Sarasota, Florida, adjacent to Sarasota Bay. Mable Fergerson (born January 18, 1955 in Los Angeles, California) is an American athlete who mainly competed in the 400 metres. She made the Olympic team just weeks after graduating from Ganesha High School in Pomona, California. At the time before Title IX, high schools had no athletic programs for girls. Her 51.91 from the semi-final of the Olympics was the fastest on record for a high school girl to that point in time. She competed for the United States at the 1972 Summer Olympics held in Munich, Germany she won the silver medal in the 4 x 400 metres where with her teammates Madeline Manning, Cheryl Toussaint and Kathy Hammond. Mable Hillery
Mable Hillery (July 22, 1929 – April 27, 1976) was an American singer who was a member of the Georgia Sea Island Singers as well as a solo recording artist. Biography Hillery was born in LaGrange, Georgia. She married Will Adams in 1950, and moved to the Georgia Sea Islands around 1960. She joined The Georgia Sea Island Singers in 1961. She had six children, and outside of performing with The Georgia Sea Island Singers was known for her work in the public school systems of both New York City and Atlanta, Georgia. She was active in the civil rights movement in the sixties. Her obituary appeared in the New York Times on May 1, 1976. Mable John (November 3, 1930 – August 25, 2022) was an American blues vocalist and was the first female signed by Berry Gordy to Motown's Tamla label. Biography John was born in Bastrop, Louisiana, on November 3, 1930, the eldest of at least nine siblings. Lee appeared on Broadway, at the Apollo Theater, and was known as "Queen of the Soundies" due to her numerous performances in the films. Mable Mathews (January 10, 1876 – January 3, 1948) was an American politician and educator from Sundance, Wyoming who served a single term in the Wyoming House of Representatives. She was elected in 1928, and represented Crook County from 1929 to 1931 as a Republican in the 20th Wyoming Legislature. Doris Mable Cochran (May 18, 1898 – May 22, 1968) was an American Herpetology, herpetologist and custodian of the American Natural Collection at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., for many years. Robert Emanuel Mable (1885–1960) was a pioneer rugby league footballer who played in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition. Career Mable played for the Eastern Suburbs club in the years 1908 to 1910. A forward, Mable played for New South Wales in the very first rugby match run by the newly created 'New South Wales Rugby Football League' which had just split away from the established New South Wales Rugby Football Union.
