Maayan Sheleff
Maayan Sheleff is an independent art curator and artist based in Tel Aviv, Israel. Her projects explore social and political issues through participatory practices, at the intersection of art and technology. Biography Sheleff was raised in Kiryat Ono, Israel. She studied plastic arts at the Thelma Yellin High School of Arts, Givatayim. Sheleff graduated Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design with a B.Des in industrial design, also studying at the Rhode Island School of Design and Politecnico di Milano. She later pursued postgraduate studies at the Interdisciplinary Arts Program, Tel Aviv University. She is currently studying towards a PhD at the Curatorial Platform in Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and Reading University, UK. HaMidrasha – Faculty Of The Arts
HaMidrasha – Faculty of the Arts (also known as "HaMidrasha Le'Omanut", "HaMidrasha Art School" or just "HaMidrasha") is an Israeli art and art-education school. Established in 1946 as an independent institution, it now is one of three faculties of Beit Berl College. History In 1946 "HaMidrasha" art school was established as an arts and crafts teacher education institution. The head of the school was Eliyahu Beiles and it was affiliated with the "Workers' Trend" in the educational system. The school then operated in the evenings in a building that served as a primary school in Tel Aviv. Later on, crafts studies were separated from "HaMidrasha" and its name was changed to "HaMidrasha for Painting Teachers." Bloomfield Science Museum
Bloomfield Science Museum is a science museum in Jerusalem, established in 1992. The museum is located opposite the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, in the Givat Ram neighborhood. The museum is named for its principal donor, Neri Bloomfield. The museum features indoor and outdoor hands-on exhibits, among them a Soap bubble, bubble-making corner in which huge bubbles are produced by chains and sticks. Special events at the museum include programs on science-related topics, such as biomedical research, in which the public is invited to meet stem cell researchers and discuss the ethical issues involved. A special night science program sponsored by the European Union has been held at the museum for several years. Miri Segal
Miri Segal ( he, מירי סגל) is a new media artist currently living in Tel Aviv. Segal was born 1965, in Haifa, Israel. Since the late 90s she has created video and media installations, light objects and theatrical pieces. Prior to her career as an artist she studied Mathematics. In 1997, She received a PhD in mathematics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem under the instruction of Prof. Menachem Magidor. In 1998, she studied Art at the San Francisco Art Institute. Segal owes her taste for the mechanisms of perception and the construction of sense-stimulating illusions to her mathematical background, according to art historian Hanna Almeka. International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) is a contemporary art institution that runs an international residency program and related exhibitions and events based in Brooklyn, New York. ISCP's exhibitions, talks, screenings and lectures generally focus on introducing New York audiences to work produced by international artists. The residency program has hosted more than 1,800 artists and curators from 90 countries, including the United States. Digital art refers to any artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as part of the creative or presentation process, or more specifically computational art that uses and engages with digital media.
