Ma-Indies Ladies F.C. is a women's soccer club based in Polokwane, Limpopo. The team competes in the Sasol Women's League, the second tier women's football league in South Africa. History They won the 2013 Limpopo Sasol Women's League and qualified for the 2013 Sasol League National Championship. They ended the championship as runners-up losing 2-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies in the final. They won the 2019 Limpopo Sasol Women's League and lost 2-0 to JVW in the 2019 Sasol League National Championship final. They were one of the first two finalists, the other JVW, to be promoted to the SAFA Women's League. The finished 8th in the 2021 SAFA Women's League and 2022 SAFA Women's League. The team was relegated to the Sasol Women's League after finishing last, 16th, in the 2023 SAFA Women's League. Sasol Women's League
The Sasol Women's League is the second-tier South African Women's association football league, sponsored by Sasol since 2013. It is semi-professional, and operates as a provincial league, with two "streams" of 8-10 teams in each of South Africa's nine provinces (in some cases, multiple streams per province), and each province's champion then competing in a single-location National Championship tournament. 2023 SAFA Women's League
The 2023 SAFA Women's League was the fourth season of the professional SAFA Women's League, and the 14th season of nation-wide league competition in women's football in South Africa. It was the 2nd season played with 16 teams. Teams The 2022 season Golden Ladies and Tsunami Queens FC were relegated to the Sasol National Championship, while Vasco Da Gama changed its name to TS Galaxy Queens after it was purchased by Tim Sukazi, who owns TS Galaxy FC. Bloemfontein Celtic changed its name to Royal AM after Shauwn Mkhize bought it. Two more teams joined the league. 2013 Sasol League National Championship
The 2013 Sasol League National Championship was the 5th edition of the Sasol League National Championship since it was formed in 2009. It was held at Alabama Stadium in Klerksdorp. Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies won 2-0 in the final against Ma-Indies Ladies. Bloemfontein Celtics Ladies claimed bronze defeating Cape Town Roses 2-0 in the 3rd/4th playoffs. Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies F
Mamelodi, part of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, is a township set up by the then apartheid government northeast of Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. Etymology "Mamelodi" is the name derived from the Sepedi word with the prefix being "ma" meaning mother, and the suffix "melodi" meaning melodies. Its meaning can be translated to mean ''Mother of Melodies''. History The township was established when 16 houses were built on the farm Vlakfontein in June 1953 and later the name changed to Mamelodi. The Group Areas Act designated Mamelodi as a blacks-only area, though this became moot with the fall of Apartheid in 1994. JVW F.C. is a women's professional soccer club based in Bedfordview, Gauteng. The team competes in the SAFA Women's League, the top tier women's football league in South Africa The First Team competes at the highest level of women's football in South Africa, The SAFA Women's League, after becoming the first team to ever gain promotion from the Sasol League in 2019, whilst the rest of the club competes in the local league, under Eastern Local Football Association. 2019 Sasol League National Championship
The 2019 Sasol League National Championship was the 11th edition of the Sasol League National Championship since it was formed in 2009. It was held at Tsakane Stadium in Tsakane. This was the last season were the Sasol League National Championship would crown the women's national soccer champion after the formation of the new first tier league, the SAFA Women's League. From this season onwards, the two finalists would be promoted to the SAFA Women's League. The semi-finals to determine who gains entry into the new national league were held on the 6th of December 2019. Noko Alice Matlou (born 30 September 1985) is a South African professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Spanish Primera Federación side SD Eibar. She has represented the South Africa women's national team both as a striker and a defender. In 2008, Matlou became the first South African to be named African Women's Footballer of the Year.
