Ma'n Ibn Za'ida
Abu'l-Walid Ma'n ibn Za'ida al-Shaybani () (died 769/70) was an 8th-century Arab general of the Shayban tribe, who served both the Umayyads and the Abbasids. Under the Umayyads Ma'n was a member of the nobility of the Shayban tribe, settled in the Jazira, and the first member of his family to rise to prominence.Bianquis (1997), p. 391Crone (1980), p. 169Kennedy (1991), p. 345 He entered the service of the Umayyad Caliphate, and under the patronage of the powerful governor of Iraq, Umar ibn Hubayra, was sent to command against Abdallah ibn Mu'awiya in Fars in 746/7. Salma Khadra Jayyusi ( ar, سلمى الخضراء الجيوسي; born 1926 or 1927) is a Palestinian poet, writer, translator and anthologist. She is the founder and director of the Project of Translation from Arabic (PROTA), which aims to provide translation of Arabic literature into English. Life Salma Khadra Jayyusi was born in Safed to a Palestinian father, the Arab nationalist Subhi al-Khadra, and a Lebanese mother. Ma'n Family
The Ma'n dynasty ( ar, ٱلْأُسْرَةُ ٱلْمَعْنِيَّةُ, Banū Maʿn, alternatively spelled ''Ma'an''), also known as the Ma'nids; ( ar, ٱلْمَعْنِيُّونَ), were a family of Druze chiefs of Arab stock based in the rugged Chouf area of southern Mount Lebanon who were politically prominent in the 15th–17th centuries. Traditional Lebanese histories date the family's arrival in the Chouf to the 12th century, when they were held to have struggled against the Crusader lords of Beirut and Sidon alongside their Druze allies, the Tanukh Buhturids. Man Asaad ( ar, معن أسعد / , ; born 20 November 1993) is a Syrian heavyweight weightlifter who competes in the +109 kg category. He won the bronze medal in the men's +109kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. He also won bronze medal in the men's +109kg Clean&Jerk event at the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships held in Bogotá, Colombia. Maan Abdul Wahed Al-Sanea (born 1955, Khobar, Saudi Arabia) is a Saudi businessman of Kuwaiti origin. In 1980, he founded the Saad Group, a conglomerate with operations in construction & engineering, real estate development, financial services and investments. He has also founded a private hospital, several educational facilities and a support center for special-needs children and their families. It is alleged that he funded all this by defrauding his wife's family, the Al Gosaibis. Al-Sanea’s family investment company, Saad Investments Co.
