The MTV Europe Music Awards (originally named MTV European Music Awards, commonly abbreviated as MTV EMA) are awards presented by Paramount International Networks to honour artists and music in pop culture. It was originally conceived as an alternative to the MTV Video Music Awards, which are hosted annually in the United States. The Europe Music Awards are held every year in a different country; it has been hosted mostly in the United Kingdom. Snook (band)
Snook () is a Swedish rap group from Stockholm. The group consists of Oskar "Kihlen" Linnros and Daniel "Danne" Adams-Ray. The group often makes fun of traditional rap and tries to reinvent it. They have released two full-length albums and several singles. In the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards in Copenhagen, they won the award for Best Swedish Act. Linnros and Adams-Ray met in high school, Viktor Rydberg Gymnasium Odenplan. They formed ''Snook'' (snok is a Swedish slang term for "nose") in 2000. The group's first single ''1990 nånting'' (Eng: "1990 something"), featuring Afasi & Filthy, became a big hit in Sweden. Lazee
Mawuli Kulego (better known by his stage name Lazee) is a Swedish rapper from the Malmö suburb Lindängen. Biography Lazee was born in Malmö, Sweden, to parents of Ghanaian origin. His passion for music grew at a young age and he was heavily influenced by the musical tastes of his father who was a DJ. He introduced Lazee to soul, R&B and reggae. Lazee first became interested in Hip Hop when he was seven years old and wrote his first rhyme at the age of ten. Andreas Kleerup (born 1979), professionally known as Kleerup, is a Swedish electropop musician. Career Kleerup's career as a producer, composer, songwriter and artist began in music as a songwriter, going on to tour with Teddybears and Robyn as a musician. In 2007, Kleerup released "With Every Heartbeat" featuring Robyn, which reached No. 1 in the UK. Those Dancing Days
Those Dancing Days were an indie pop band from Nacka, a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden. Most frequently compared to Northern Soul and 1960s era girl-groups, the band formed in 2005 while the members were all still in school. They were signed to Wichita Recordings. The band consisted of five people from Stockholm. Their name derived from the Led Zeppelin song "Dancing Days" pitched by the band's bassist, Mimmi. Timo Räisänen
Timo Räisänen (born 25 July 1979) is a Swedish musician. He has been part of Håkan Hellström's band, and has also played in the band Her Majesty. In 2004, he started his solo career. Räisänen was born in Gothenburg, Sweden. His mother was born in India, the daughter of an Anglo-Indian mother and a Swedish father. His father was of Finnish descent but was brought up in Brazil. After his parents married, they moved to Sweden. The title of his 2006 album, ''I'm Indian'' refers to his mother's ancestry. Neverstore is a Swedish punk rock band. The band was formed in 2000 in Skövde. Neverstore released their first album, '' Sevenhundred Sundays'' January 24, 2007. The songs ''So Much of Not Enough'' and ''L.Y.D.'' (Live Your Dreams) were included on the album. Shortly after they released a new single, "Stay Forever".
