MLAE-2011
MLAE-2011 was a two vehicle expedition with a crew of seven following a route from Dudinka (Russia) via the North Pole to Resolute Bay (Canada). The expedition was organized by the Russian Center For Arctic Exploration and carried out under the patronage of the Special Representative of the President of Russian Federation In International Cooperation In The Arctic and the first vice-president of the Russian Geographical Society, A.N. Chilingarov The expedition was to traverse the ice of the Arctic Ocean under the flag of Russian Geographical Society. On reaching the North Pole, the expedition was to head south to Canada and was expected to end in Resolute (Qasuittuq), in the Canadian territory of Nunavut, around June 15, 2011. Dudinka (russian: Дуди́нка; Nenets: Тут'ын, ''Tutꜧyn'') is a town on the Yenisei River and the administrative center of Taymyrsky Dolgano-Nenetsky District of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. It used to be the administrative center of Taymyr Autonomous Okrug, which was merged into Krasnoyarsk Krai on January 1, 2007. Resolute Bay
Resolute Bay is an Arctic waterway in the Qikiqtaaluk Region, Nunavut, Canada. It is located in Parry Channel on the southern side of Cornwallis Island. The hamlet of Resolute is located on the northern shore of the bay with Resolute Bay Airport to the northwest. The Inuit associated with Resolute Bay are called ''Qausuittuq'' and the population of the hamlet in the 2006 census was 229.
