The MI 79 (French: ''Matériel d'Interconnexion de 1979'', English: ''interconnection rolling stock of 1979''), also known as the Class Z 8100 is a Multi-system (rail), dual-voltage electric multiple unit trainset that is operated on RER B, line B of the Réseau Express Régional (RER), a hybrid Commuter rail, suburban commuter and rapid transit system serving Paris and its Île-de-France, suburbs. The MI 79, designed in the 1970s for the RER B which needed dual-voltage (interconnection) trainsets. They were followed by a derivative version, the MI 84, designed in the 1980s to meet the needs of the RER A line, before reassigned to the RER B in the 2010s. Laplace (Paris RER)
Laplace is a station on the line B of the Réseau Express Régional, a hybrid suburban commuter and rapid transit line. It is located in the city of Arcueil. History Originally a Sceaux line station, it was rebuilt in the "Art Deco" style by the Compagnie du chemin de fer métropolitain de Paris (CMP) as part of the line's modernization work in the 1930s. The name comes from the eponymous avenue passing below the station. Railway situation The station, built in embankment, has 3 tracks (Track 1, 2 and Z) with a lateral platform, on the east side, for trains going south, and a central island platform for the other two tracks. There is a platform, still visible, but unused, at the southern end of the current station, alongside the passenger building which allowed trains from the south to be overtaken. Z 23000
The Z 23000 was a type of railcar run by the Compagnie du chemin de fer métropolitain de Paris (CMP). The trains, better known during their 50 years of service as the "automotrices Z" (English: ''Z railcars''), were brought in from 1934 to serve la Ligne de Sceaux in the southern suburbs of Paris, which had been modernized and electrified by 1937. MS 61
The MS 61 (French: ''Matériel Suburbain de 1961'', English: ''Suburban rolling stock of 1961'') was an electric multiple unit trainset that was operated on line A and line B of the Réseau Express Régional (RER), a hybrid suburban commuter and rapid transit system serving Paris and its Île-de-France suburbs. The MS 61 borrowed many elements from the Z 23000 railcars built for the Ligne de Sceaux (a predecessor of the RER B), including four pairs of doors on each side of the cars for fast boarding of passengers at stations, but the MS 61 was capable of speeds of up to compared to for the Z 23000. Unlike later rolling stock for the RER lines, the MS 61 lacked dual-voltage capabilities and could only use the RATP's 1.5 kV DC electrical system, limiting them to only operating between and or on the RER A and between Gare du Nord and or on the RER B. The Ligne de Sceaux (Sceaux Line) was a railway line in France running from Paris, which initially linked the Place Denfert-Rochereau (then called the ''Place d'Enfer'', in Paris, to the town of Sceaux, Hauts-de-Seine, Sceaux. RER A is one of the five lines in the Réseau Express Régional (English: Regional Express Network), a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris, France and its suburbs. The line crosses the region from east to west, with all trains serving a group of stations in central Paris, before branching out towards the ends of the line. The initial portion of the line was built in stages between December 1969 and December 1977 by connecting two existing suburban commuter rail lines with a new tunnel under Paris: the line between Vincennes and Boissy-Saint-Léger in the east (which formerly terminated at the now-closed Gare de la Bastille), and the line between Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Nanterre line in the west (which formerly used a surface alignment to Paris Saint-Lazare which is still in use as Transilien L). The 73 four-car trains were built by a consortium of French manufacturers Alsthom and ANF Industrie (which would be purchased by Bombardier in 1989 before the end of the deliveries).
