Ruby McGregor-Smith, Baroness McGregor-Smith, (''née'' Ahmad; born 22 February 1963) is a British business executive and politician. McGregor-Smith was the former CEO of Mitie Group PLC, a UK facilities management business, from 2007 to 2016. She was nominated as a Conservative life peer in August 2015. McGregor-Smith joined Mitie as group financial director in 2002 and was promoted to CEO in 2007. She was the only Asian female chief executive of a FTSE 250 company at this time. She was awarded a CBE in 2012 for services to business and promoting diversity. During the decade she spent at Mitie, the firm increased its turnover by £1.5bn billion, which passed the £2bn mark for the first time in 2012. Interserve is a British construction and support services business based in Reading, Berkshire, which went into administration in 2019 and which is expected to be wound up in 2024. At that time, the group generated revenue of £2.2 billion and had a workforce of 34,721 people. The company was founded in 1884 as the London and Tilbury Lighterage Company Limited. From 1991 it was known as Tilbury Douglas following a merger with RM Douglas, but in 2001 it rebranded as Interserve plc. Phillip Keague Bentley (born 14 January 1959) is a British businessman. He is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Mitie, and formerly the CEO of Cable & Wireless Communications. and the managing director of British Gas, the British retail arm of the energy company Centrica. Early and personal life Bentley was brought up in Bradford, and attended Woodhouse Grove School in Apperley Bridge. He holds a master's degree from Pembroke College, Oxford and an MBA from INSEAD. The Shard
The Shard, also referred to as the Shard of Glass, Shard London Bridge, and formerly London Bridge Tower, is a 72-storey skyscraper, designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano, in Southwark, London, that forms part of The Shard Quarter development. Standing high, The Shard is the tallest building in the United Kingdom, and the seventh-tallest building in Europe.
