Sergio Bergonzelli (25 August 1924 – 24 September 2002) was an Italian director, screenwriter, producer and actor. Life and career Born in Alba, Cuneo, Bergonzelli graduated in Philosophy, then he started working as an actor with the stage name Siro Carme. After being assistant and second unit director in a number of genre films, in 1960 he made his debut as director and screenwriter with '' Seven in the Sun''. Also a film producer, Bergonzelli was the first to produce Spaghetti Western films entirely shot in Italy. In the 1970s he specialized in the erotic genre. Ignazio Dolce (born 26 March 1933) is an Italian director and actor. Life and career Born in Palermo, Sicily, Dolce graduated at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, and starting from the late 1950s he began a career as a character actor. Almost simultaneously he started a parallel career as a second unit director, often collaborating with Gianfranco Parolini and Antonio Margheriti. Mario Lanfranchi
Mario Lanfranchi (30 June 1927 – 3 January 2022) was an Italian film, theatre, and television director, screenwriter, producer, collector, and actor. Career Lanfranchi was born in Parma. After receiving a degree at the Drama Academy ( Accademia dei Filodrammatici) of Milan in the early 1950s, he was hired by Sergio Pugliese at RAI, at the onset of Italian television. He was the first to bring opera to the small screen, in 1956, with '' Madama Butterfly'', by Giacomo Puccini, which introduced to a wide public Anna Moffo, at that time an unknown American soprano, who became his wife for 17 years. In 1967 he began his career as a film director with the western movie ''Death Sentence''. He lived in a 16th-century villa in Santa Maria del Piano outside Parma (). Lanfranchi died in Langhirano, near Parma, on 3 January 2022, at the age of 94. Gianni Solaro (born Gianni Lorenzon, 11 August 1926 – 12 August 2006) was an Italian film and television actor. Life and career Born in Rome, Solaro was a character actor in the Italian film industry for about twenty years, between the late 1950s and the late 1970s. During his career he spanned any sort of role, alternating genre films and art films, and notably working with Mario Monicelli, Marco Bellocchio, Luigi Zampa, Mario Camerini, Francesco Maselli and Florestano Vancini. Silvia Solar
Silvia Solar (20 March 19369 May 2011) was a French actress and prolific minor star in Spanish cinema. The majority of her appearances were in the 1960s and 1970s. Early life Solar was born Geneviève Couzain in Paris. Career Couzain won the title of "Miss France" at age 16. Shortly thereafter producer and director Henri Diamant-Berger cast Solar in her first film role. Her career spanned from the late 1950s through the early 1990s, starring in dozens of comedies, romances, drama, crime and spy thrillers as well as horror films. She played a main role in the Italian horror film ''Eyeball'' in 1975. That same year, she appeared alongside Paul Naschy in '' Night of the Howling Beast''. She starred in the film ''Devil's Kiss'', which received mixed reviews. Personal Solar was married to actor and former bullfighter Rogelio Madrid. She died May 18, 2011 in Lloret de Mar, Spain. Adalberto "Bitto" Albertini (1924–1999) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. Career He began his film career as a camera operator and as a cinematographer. In 1974 Albertini directed ''Black Emanuelle'' starring the then almost unknown Laura Gemser. Her subsequent successful career meant that she was absent from ''Black Emanuelle 2'', and Albertini instead cast actress Shulamith Lasri in the title role. In 1977 he released ''Yellow Emanuelle'' as a comeback. The film, starring Chai Lee, was very successful. However the film never reached the popularity of Joe D'Amato's series. His last two films were "Mondo film, Mondos" set in Asia, depicting shocking rituals and savage violence. He died in Italy in 1999 at age 74.
