M-29 (Michigan Highway)
M-29 is a state trunkline highway in the US state of Michigan that runs in a south–north direction from Chesterfield Township to Marysville. It generally runs along the shore of Lake St. Clair and the St. Clair River. The M-29 designation has been used twice in Michigan starting in 1919. The first designation near Lansing was replaced by U.S. Route 27 (US 27) in 1926. At that time, the M-29 designation was moved to the east side of the state along the current routing and farther north along part of what became US 25 and M-25. The 1933 extension of US 25 replaced the northern section of M-29 leading to the current location of M-29. Route description The route generally follows the eastern border of the state along the northwest shore of Lake St. Clair and the western bank of the St. Clair River. Chesterfield Township, Michigan
Chesterfield Charter Township is a charter township of Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township population was 37,405. The 2010 Census places the population at 43,381. The township was organized in 1842, formed from a portion of Macomb Township. In 1989 it gained charter status. The township is part of Metro Detroit. History Chesterfield Township was originally established as a general law township in 1842. It became a charter township in 1989. The original European-American settlement in the area was a hamlet called Chesterfield, first settled in 1830. When the Grand Trunk Railway came through in 1865, it stimulated the development of businesses in the hamlet. It had a post office from 1875 until 1907, but has since lost its specific identity. M-154 (Michigan Highway)
M-154 is a state trunkline highway in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is entirely on Harsens Island at the mouth of the St. Clair River. It is one of only three trunklines in Michigan on islands. The other two are M-134 on Drummond Island and M-185 on Mackinac Island. Access to Harsens Island and M-154 is provided by ferry which runs year round. The highway was first designated in 1931, and realigned on the island within the next two years. Route description M-154 begins where Green Road merges with South Channel Drive on Harsens Island at the mouth of the St. Clair River. From there the road travels northward around the east edge of the island for about before it cuts a block inland. Bay City is a city and county seat of Bay County in the U.S. state of Michigan, located near the base of the Saginaw Bay on Lake Huron. As of the 2010 census, the city's population was 34,932, and it is the principal city of the Bay City Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Saginaw-Midland-Bay City Combined Statistical Area. Marshall is a U.S. city in Michigan. It is the county seat of Calhoun County. The population was 7,088 at the 2010 census. Marshall is best known for its cross-section of 19th- and early 20th-century architecture. Charlotte ( ) is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 9,074. It is the county seat of Eaton County. Charlotte is in the central portion of the county, on the boundary between Eaton Township and Carmel Township, though politically independent of both. Interstate 69 serves the city, and connects it to the state capital of Lansing. It is located 21.5 miles (34.6 kilometers) from downtown Lansing. Interstate 94 Business (Port Huron, Michigan)
There are currently eight business routes of Interstate 94 (I-94) in the US state of Michigan. These business routes connect I-94 to the downtown business districts of neighboring cities. Seven of the eight routes are business loops which bear the Business Loop I-94 (BL I-94) designation while one is a business spur that bears the Business Spur I-94 (BS I-94). These loops are former routings of I-94's two predecessors in Michigan: US Highway 12 (US 12) or US 25. The westernmost BL I-94 runs through the twin cities of Benton Harbor and St. Joseph along the former routing of US 12 and US 31/ US 33 that now includes a section of the Lake Michigan Circle Tour in the state. Belle River Power Plant
Belle River Power Plant is a major coal- and natural gas-fired power plant owned by Detroit Edison, a subsidiary of DTE Energy. It is located in St. Clair County, Michigan, on the peninsula formed by the St. Clair and Belle rivers. The plant was built across M-29 from the St. Clair Power Plant in East China, Michigan, and shares the coal delivery terminal with it. The Belle River plant also shares cooling water from the St. Clair River with its sister plant. Five oil-fueled internal combustion generators (named IC1, IC2, 3, 4, and 5) were built in 1981, with a total output 13.75 megawatts. Coal-fired unit 1 of the Belle River plant was completed in 1984, followed by a similar unit 2 in 1985.
