Lärz Airfield
Lärz is a municipality in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is governed by the Röbel-Müritz amt based in the city of Röbel. Geography Lärz is located south of lake Müritz – in the Mecklenburg Lake District – between the towns of Rechlin and Mirow. The Mirow canal leads from Mirow to Vietzen, through the municipality of Lärz, and is part of the Müritz-Havel waterway. The west and south of the wooded district of Lärz is rich in lakes, such as lake Thüren, lake Tralow, lake Nebel, lake Müritzsee and lake Müritzarm; lake Sumpfsee and lake Kleine Müritz are also nearby. The upper Elde flows into lake Müritzsee, which is connected to lake Müritz via lake Müritzarm. The slightly hilly terrain around Lärz reaches a maximum of 89 m above sea level ( NHN). Wittstock
Wittstock/Dosse is a town in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district, in north-western Brandenburg, Germany. Geography It is located in the eastern Prignitz region on the Dosse River near the confluence with its Glinze tributary, about east of Pritzwalk and northwest of Berlin. Wittstock is situated in a terminal moraine landscape south of the Mecklenburg Lake District. Town structure After the incorporation of several suburban villages in December 1993 and again in October 2003, Wittstock became the 6th largest town in Germany by area. However, the former independent districts Herzsprung and Königsberg, which were forced to be integrated in 2003, regained their independence in 2004, claiming that the compulsive integration was void because of a clerical error. Fusion Festival
The Fusion Festival is a music and arts festival with a countercultural character. It takes place at a former military airport called Müritz Airpark in Lärz, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in northeastern Germany. The festival name is often depicted in Cyrillic letters as Фузион, but pronounced like the English word fusion []. The annual festival was started by the ''Kulturkosmos'' organisation in 1997. It lasts four to six days, usually at the end of June. In 2016, the Fusion Festival event took place from 29 June to 3 July and which has attracted some 70,000 attendees for each year's festival, since the 2013 event, which the comparable American Burning Man event only matched in 2015. Different musical styles are represented at the festival, but the line up is not released beforehand. The Breguet Br.1150 Atlantic is a long-range maritime patrol aircraft designed and manufactured by French aircraft manufacturer Breguet Aviation. Designed in response to a 1958 NATO specification as a replacement for the Lockheed P2V Neptune, Breguet's submission was declared the winner over several competing bids. Heinkel He 178
The Heinkel He 178 was an experimental aircraft designed and produced by the German aircraft manufacturer Heinkel. It was the world's first aircraft to fly using the thrust from a turbojet engine. The He 178 was developed to test the jet propulsion concept devised by the German engineer Hans von Ohain during the mid-1930s.
