László Ranódy (14 September 1919 – 14 October 1983) was a Hungarian film director. He directed 18 films between 1950 and 1980. Sombor ( sr-Cyrl, Сомбор, ; hu, Zombor; rue, Зомбор, Zombor) is a city and the administrative center of the West Bačka District in the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. The city has a total population of 47,623 (), while its administrative area (including neighboring villages) has 85,903 inhabitants. Name and etymology In Serbian, the city is known as ''Sombor'' (Сомбор), in Hungarian and German as ''Zombor'', in Croatian and Bunjevac as ''Sombor'', in Rusyn as ''Zombor'' (Зомбор), and in Turkish as ''Sonbor''. The older Hungarian name for the city was ''Czoborszentmihály''. The name originates from the Czobor family, who were the owners of this area in the 14th century. ''Nobody's Daughter'' ( hu, Árvácska) is a Hungarian film released 4 March 1976. Based on a book by Zsigmond Móricz, the film tells the story of Csöre, an orphan girl living among the peasantry of Hungary in the 1930s. It stars Zsuzsa Czinkóczi, then age seven, as main character Csöre, also known as Árvácska. Árvácska means literally "little orphan" and it's also the Hungarian name of the violet flower.
