Lynn River
The Lynn River is a fresh water river located in Norfolk County in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. It empties into Lake Erie at Port Dover. Summary The Lynn Valley Trail follows the river between Port Dover and the town of Simcoe. It is possible to kayak down the Lynn River to the outskirts of Port Dover. The watershed stretches throughout Norfolk County and is one of few cold water tributaries feeding into the Eastern Lake Erie basin. A small waterfall can be found on the Port Dover side of the Lynn River. However, the waterfall is surrounded by private property; making roadside viewing the only safe and legal way to view the waterfall. Stately homes can be found along the Lynn River; some with prices fetching up to nearly $3,000,000 on the open real estate market. While the quality of the surface water is slightly above provincial average when it comes to cleanliness, the conditions of the surrounding forests are well below average when compared to the rest of Ontario. Lynn Rivers
Lynn Nancy Rivers (born December 19, 1956) is an American politician and lawyer from Michigan. She served four terms in the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003. Early life and education Rivers was born in Au Gres, Michigan, and graduated from Au Gres-Sims High School, Arenac County, in 1975. She was married the day after graduation, and had 2 children by age 21. She received a B.A. in biological anthropology from the University of Michigan in 1987 and a J.D. from Wayne State University in 1992. Hillcrest is a hamlet in Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada that is in between Bill's Corners and the town of Simcoe. Hillcrest's earliest known inhabitants, from around the year 1000 until approximately 300–350 years later, were the Algonquin nation. They were noted flint-workers and evidence of their skill in crafting arrowheads is still to be found in open worked field areas surrounding the village. The next wave of inhabitants were the Attawandaron nation, the Neutrals, who occupied the region from about 1350 until their absorption by the Iroquois in the year 1651. The last significant native nation to occupy the area was the Mississaugas. In 2001, Haldimand-Norfolk was dissolved into two separate single-tier counties. Hillcrest became part of the newly formed County of Norfolk. Lynn Valley Trail
The ''Lynn Valley Trail'' is a trail connecting Simcoe, Ontario, Canada to Port Dover. Summary Both destinations are historic small towns with rustic central business areas. This trail meets with the Lynn River in certain places. It follows a former railbed through Carolinian forest. Edible things to eat found along the trail include wild strawberries, wild raspberries, and blackberries. Nighttime use of the trail is prohibited and only pedestrians and bicycles may use the trail at any time. Privacy laws prevent the climbing of fences and gates leading to private property as a part of respecting the residents that live along the trail.
