Lykens Township is one of the sixteen townships of Crawford County, Ohio, United States. As of the 2020 census the population was 589. Geography Located in the northwestern part of the county, it borders the following townships: * Bloom Township, Seneca County - north * Chatfield Township - east * Holmes Township - south * Tod Township - southwest corner * Texas Township - west * Eden Township, Seneca County - northwest corner No municipalities are located in Lykens Township, although the unincorporated communities of Brokensword and Lykens lie on the border with Holmes Township and in the township's center, respectively. Lykens is a borough in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, United States. Anthracite coal mining sustained a population of 2,762 in 1900 and 2,943 in 1910. The population was 1,865 at the 2020 census. Lykens is part of the Harrisburg– Carlisle Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Lykens was laid out in 1848. The borough was named for Andrew Lycan. The GAR Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. Geography Lykens is located in northeastern Dauphin County at , in the valley of Wiconisco Creek, between Short Mountain and Big Lick Mountain to the north, and Berry Mountain to the south. U.S. Route 209 passes through the borough, leading northeast to Pottsville and west to Millersburg on the Susquehanna River. Lykens Township is a township which is located in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,558 at the time of the 2020 census, a decline from the figure of 1,618 tabulated in 2010. History The Bridge in Lykens Township No. 1 and Bridge in Lykens Township No. 2 were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. Geography Lykens Township occupies the northeastern corner of Dauphin County, bordered by Northumberland County to the north and Schuylkill County to the east. The borough of Gratz, a separate municipality, is located south of the township center and is entirely surrounded by the township.
