Lycée Saint-Sernin
The Lycée Saint-Sernin, also referred to simply as Saint-Sernin, is a public Lycée, located at ''3 place Saint-Sernin'', in the city center of Toulouse, in front of the Basilica of Saint-Sernin. The current headmaster is Thierry Verger. The high school welcomes around 1,800 students, from high school to ''Classe préparatoire aux grandes écoles''. It is also classified as a ''Monument historique'' for some of its buildings inherited from the ''Hôtel Dubarry'', from the 18th century, and the former Benedictine convent, from the 19th century. Upcoming renovation work will make it possible to rehabilitate these buildings and, possibly, to uncover vestiges of medieval times. Basilica Of Saint-Sernin, Toulouse
The Basilica of Saint-Sernin (Occitan: ''Basilica de Sant Sarnin'') is a church in Toulouse, France, the former abbey church of the Abbey of Saint-Sernin or St Saturnin. Apart from the church, none of the abbey buildings remain. The current church is located on the site of a previous basilica of the 4th century which contained the body of Saint Saturnin or Sernin, the first bishop of Toulouse in c. 250. Constructed in the Romanesque style between about 1080 and 1120, with construction continuing thereafter, Saint-Sernin is the largest remaining Romanesque building in Europe. The church is particularly noted for the quality and quantity of its Romanesque sculpture. Classe Préparatoire Aux Grandes écoles
The ''classes préparatoires aux grandes écoles'' (CPGE) (English: Higher School Preparatory Classes), commonly called ''classes prépas'' or ''prépas'', are part of the French post-secondary education system. They consist of two years of study (extendable to three or exceptionally four years) which act as an intensive preparatory course (or cram school) with the main goal of training students for enrolment in one of the ''grandes écoles''. The workload is one of the highest in Europe(29 to 45 contact hours a week, with up to 10 hours of guided tutorials and oral exam sessions). Bigflo & Oli is a French hip-hop duo from Toulouse. The duo is composed of two brothers, Florian "Bigflo" Ordoñez and Olivio "Oli" Ordoñez. Sarah Kofman
Sarah Kofman (; September 14, 1934 – October 15, 1994) was a French philosopher . Biography Kofman began her teaching career in Toulouse in 1960 at the Lycée Saint-Sernin, and worked with both Jean Hyppolite and Gilles Deleuze. Her abandoned primary thesis (''thèse principale'') for her State doctorate, later published as ''Nietzsche et la métaphore'', was supervised by Deleuze. In 1969 Kofman met Jacques Derrida and began attending his seminars at the École Normale Supérieure. Kofman did not receive tenure until 1991, when she was appointed to a chair at Paris I. Kofman was the author of numerous books, including several on Friedrich Nietzsche and Sigmund Freud.
