Lux (Brian Eno Album)
''Lux'' is the twenty-sixth solo studio album from Brian Eno, released through Warp on 13 November 2012. The album is a collection of ambient soundscapes that have been installed in art galleries and airport terminals. Critical reception has positively compared it with Eno's previous ambient work and noted that it is both relaxing as well as challenging music for those who engage it critically. In 2013, Brian Eno created a number of limited edition prints featuring the cover artwork from ''Lux'' made available only from his website. Promotion The music was originally commissioned alongside work in the Great Gallery of the Palace of Venaria in Turin, Italy. To promote the album, Eno attended listening parties in London, New York City, and Sydney. Following in the tradition of ''Music for Airports'', the album was previewed in Tokyo's Haneda Airport for four days prior to the album's commercial release. Josef Lux (1 February 1956 in Ústí nad Orlicí – 21 November 1999 in Seattle, Washington) was a leader of the Christian and Democratic Union – Czechoslovak People's Party who entered politics after the Velvet Revolution. Gwen Lux Creighton professionally Gwen Lux, (1908–2001) was an American sculptor known for her abstraction and frequently constructed from polyester resin concrete and metals. She was among America’s pioneer women sculptors. Biography Gwen Wickerts was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 17, 1908. She began her art studies in Detroit at age 14, taking classes with potter, Mary Chase Perry Stratton at Pewabic Pottery. She later studied at Wicker School of Fine Art and Art League of Detroit between 1923–1926. Followed by a year of study at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) from 1926 until 1927, and at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston from 1927 until 1928. Germán Darío Lux (born 7 June 1982) is a retired Argentine professional footballer who last played for River Plate as a goalkeeper. Gavin Thomas Lux (born November 23, 1997) is an American professional baseball second baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played baseball for Indian Trail High School and Academy in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and was selected in the first round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft by the Dodgers and made his major league debut in September 2019. Adam Lux (27 December 1765 – 4 November 1793) was a German revolutionary and sympathiser of the French Revolution. Life Early life Lux was born in Obernburg am Main, a village belonging to the Electorate of Mainz, as a farmer's son. Lux Products is a thermostat brand of Johnson Controls Inc. History The company had its origins in the Lux Clock Manufacturing Company, founded in 1914 by Paul Lux. After being employed by the Waterbury Clock Company of Connecticut, Mr. Lux, along with his German-born wife Caroline, and sons Fred and Herman, decided to start their own clock business. The Lux Clock Manufacturing Company was based in Waterbury, Connecticut and produced only clock movements at that time.
